Discovery 4.83 beta 5 is the last (or almost the last) beta before 4.83 final release. The beta is necessary to fix the last bugs and balance the new ships. Keep the bug reports flowing; infocard mistake reports also appreciated.
There are 3 new ships in this release - Arrow, a light interceptor by Vaporlinx (sold in California), Blood Dragon Gunboat by Vaporlinx (sold... guess where) and the Collector CSV II by Doom (sold in New London).
I remind that Tiger Shark MUST be sold and changed for another ship before or immediately after the beta. All Tiger Shark owners that will keep the old ship until tomorrow will lose a character with no refund.

- Tiger Shark must be sold and re-bought!
- Albatross & Assault Battlecruiser: equipping battleship shields is no longer possible.

Yes frigates need some kind of an advantage over the BS otherwise they are not worth it. I mean having a BS class shield is a bit over the top but we need a thruster of some kind....

Guys, giving the Frigates BS shields unbalanced them. They shouldn't be able to take on BSs. Heck, I'm a good Outcast Dreadnaught. I know its an egotistical comment, but I've noticed in during the war. Osorojo's Liberty Frigate could take 1/2 my hull before he died.
The frigate with a BS shield can dodge 40% of inferno and BR shots, plus have the same regen and cap as a BS. Then it has a pretty decently sized hull and bot/batt capacity. Its defenses plus agility make it just as strong as a battleship in defense. The only reason a BS outdoes the frigate is because of firepower. Thats the ONLY advantage a BS has, except the bare little hull it has more of, which doesn't matter if you factor in the agility of the Frigate + its much smaller size.
Downloaded a 5th time with a proxycache evader and it worked. It seems my ISP has a transparent proxy between me and the DL site. It had a corrupted copy cached.

...checking Direcway Satt stats to see if I can d/l 35 megabytes without "punishing" the whole household for 24 hours. This really sucks. High ping, and a limit on downloads.
Anyone else care to invest in a new satellite over the Southwestern US?
