The Reconquista of Omicron Eta.

Ok folks, I thought I'd schedule an event or two for the OUtcasts and Corsairs in Omicron Eta. The basic plot outline for the event, is a large scale operation by the Outcasts to sweep the Corsair threat out of southern Omicron Eta. I will be writing some background fluff to this involving my Outcast character Arsenio Zavala over the course of the next week. However I thought I'd just introduce the event first.

The first event in this series of events will be a smaller affair compared to latter events, as the scale of the operation will ramp up as things carry on.

An Outcast task-force will bypass the minefield to engage a corsair fleet in sector B6.

The forces on either side consist of:

2x Cruisers
3x Gunboats
4x Bombers
and an unknown number of fighters.

People should run in here, and say who they will be flying for and what ship they intend to bring. The slots for ships which are limited (cruisers, GB and bombers) will be handed out on a first come first serve basis. If you don't get to fly your cap in this event, then you most likely will in the next event which follows it.

I want to keep the sides on this roughly even, so if you want to participate in this series of events and you see one side being heavily outnumbered, then consider flying for your second choice of faction.

The reason I want to start out with a fairly modest fleet size on either side is to reflect some mention of the Outcast's caution over the campaign which will be included in the story, and not wanting to risk a large fleet early on, and the corsairs being unprepared.

Later events will have larger numbers of caps and bombers (I've limited to bombers in order to make the caps more of a threat).

The outcome of each event with have a knock on effect on the next event, in terms of force composition (not size) and the location of the fight in Omicron Eta. Details on that to come.

Ideally Zelot would be leading the Corsairs in his role as TBH leader.

I'm perfectly fine using either one, and won't mind being assigned to a side based on the number or participants.

Love that there is finally an event going for us, massive kudos goes to joe for this.

Monty, looks like you're flying a cruiser. I wouldn't mind having one factionalised cruiser and one indy on each side, but I'll see who and what applies.

The reason I'm not asking for one of those weekly slots, is that I want to keep moving the time for it around. I'm thinking of doing perhaps four or five of these events, each one on a different day of the week and at a different time, to make it so a lot of people can get involved. I know a lot of people have trouble making a regular slot, as they might be working or something. That's why I'm going to be changing the time and day for each of these events.
