Well, I've been really busy lately and to top it all off the computer running XP that I normally use has decided to break down on me so now that I have a bit of time to at least log in, I can't use my normal XP desktop, I have to use my *gasp* Vista computer. I've done everything in the various tutorials, it's installed to MyDocuments, added the hex code to the end of the target, changed my antivirus to the latest AVG from Avast!, since I'd really rather not go without any sort of antivirus of all and can't exactly afford ESET at the moment.

Windows Firewall is off and the free AVG I'm using has no firewall, so it shouldn't be that, and I'm running it as administrator, and yet I still cannot connect to any servers. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Alternatively I'd like to ask if the administrators can perhaps freeze my characters so I don't lose them until such a time as I can fix my Vista issues or fix up my XP computer.

When you installed AVG did you pick the custom install option and only picked those files which said AVG free version? If not then reinstall AVG using this option. Hope that helps.
