OK, here's the situation.

Bought a spankin' new PC about a month ago (Dual Core what what ect ect, anyway).

Installed Freelancer and Mod 4.83 - worked perfectly. Then on one faithful day my Mpegs stopped working - videos, movies, mpeg related sound (such as the ones Freelancer has).

Tried to fix it myself, but I don't really have the time for problems, so I took the PC in for repairs (last week). It came back, and everything works fine... except the sound on Freelancer.

I installed GordonKnot codec and it brought back some of the sounds. (Kinda weird. All the sound waves works just not all at the same time - it's like it's randamized...weird).

And last night a new thing started happening... the game crashes and shows me my desktop... no error reports, and without warning TWICE IN ROW !! Is this a simple codec thing, or worst ????

Is this familiar to someone... maybe... hopefully...

It might be codec related.

Try ffdshow codecs

Already installed. Can it perhaps be a setting on the codec itself ??

I fixed the sound problem !!:yahoo:

Seemed all I had to do was uninstall and reinstall Freelancer and Mod 4.83 !!

It still crashes back to the desktop now and then...
