Well, the question is simple: are the blood diamonds made from usual uncut diamonds by Hessians - just to make them look nicer so nobody will buy those ugly white ones - or they are made from other material from other fields?

Wiki doesn't say anything exact on this topic.

They're the same diamonds (mined out in rheinland area) and not manufactured by science.
They are red because they represent the blood blah blah.
but i see two ways for this: Unclean diamonds, special diamonds mined in 49

Blodo, can you give some more information please? Also, there is, for example, mining ship floating in O-54, i wonder what does it mine there.

Also,

Wait a second, to become red for usual white diamonds... it definately requires science. But it should be quite a difficult process to make diamonds red, after all, they are pretty solid, so it wouldn't be too reasonable to make them red whatever they represent.

diamonds:

Quote:Typically yellow, brown or gray to colorless.

Less often blue, green, black, translucent white, pink, violet, orange, purple and red.

They can be mined. The fact that they are red has hotning to do with them being called 'blood diamonds'. Blood diamonds are diamonds mined by the help of slaves and usually there is a lot of death involved in their movement on the market.

The blood diamonds (diamonds mined by slaves) in sirius just happen to be of red color that's all.

That's what I thought of the name as well.

Ever considered the term 'Blood diamond' isn't literal, but infact is just representative of the labour used to mine them?

Ok, so someone got there before me on that... Never mind... That'll teach me for not bothering with reading the thread.:$

they do differ from the regular diamonds tho, I'ld like to think. Othervise one wouldn't know they're contraband aka how to tell them apart from regular ones.

I'll go with the reddish ore because of the rock formations in that system.
Good thinking for Hessians. No need to purify them - get them a meaning

Though the Hessians wouldn't use slave labour, or exploitative measures to gain them. From the wiki:
Quote:Distinctive for their reddish tint, Hessian Blood Diamonds are identical to Kruger's white diamonds for industrial purposes, but their unique coloration has made them the preferred choice for anyone wanting to make a political statement against the Rheinland state's policies. Ideological allies and sympathizers of the Red Hessians have been quick to import Blood Diamonds as a show of support for the Hessians' cause, while the Rheinland government is ruthlessly trying to block their export

Also, speaking of slave labour - come on, don't say what you don't know. Ther is no sign of Hessians using slave labour, on the other hand, they tend to liberate them.

But it's not the point. The point is Blood Diamonds, the red ones. I don't know of any process able to turn white diamonds into red but yes, its 817 A.S. and there are sounds in space, so better check it two times.
