Credit Cards

I'm just wondering, does anyone have a use for the credit Card Commodities, because as far as my imagination runs, I can't think of anything useful to do with them. They'ra all bought and sold for the same price Sirius wide, so there's no profit to be made as far as I can tell.

Now, if there were Armoured Transports running around ferrying them from place to place, well the Pirating Community could have a field day, I mean it'd be great. By extension, if there was a faction "Sirius Banking" allied obviously with lawfuls and enemies to the unlawfuls, then you could set up patrols from a Central Bank to the House Capitals or something.

Otherwise I honestly don't see the use for the commodity. If someone has other ideas about what they can be used for for, or if they know what they ARE used for then please, enlighten me, because I've yet to meet a NPC or Player, hauling the things.

Thier true purpose, I believe, is so you can do individual transfers of funds from one character to another, if there is no one around to help. It is dangerous, but some do so to keep a low profile. It can also be used to incite battles by carrying'em in your hold to tempt nasty folk to attack:)Like me, hehehehe......

Well, people use them to store excess cash.

By "people" I mean those at the top of FL stats on this server. They have mountains of money, and the easiest way to store them is nice and safe in NY with a hold full of 100 million credit cards.

Others, like me, use them to transfer cash when no one is around... >.>

I use them all the time to transfer funds from one char to another, comes in very handy when theres noone to help.

As long as theres plenty of npcs about when you drop the credit card and switch char's its pritty safe.

The credit cards are used to transfer funds. I learned how to use them when I was playing in the BK server. You jettison the credit card, get away at least 1k of distance from it, then logout and return with another char, tract the card and you have the money transfered. The other char must already be there, because the credit card disappear after some time. But there are some risks, you can lose credit cards if theres a server crash or you are disconnected from the internet for some reason. I already lost 20 million in credit cards and there was no refund from the admins, so you have to be careful with such operation.

A tip for transfering, before you log out, wait for 5 seconds until your shields on your ships 'reactivate' otherwise the loot might get deleted.

I lost 90 million credits doing that once, but that was back in 4.80 days.
