A simple suggestion before I try putting it ip in RP.

What if the area around Manhattan in about a 2/5k area become an area where combat is prohibited? In RP, this is due to the orbital zone being a point for traders, civilians, police and military to land, scan and do their daily business within the haven of Manhattan.

But people still do combat in this zone on many a time. Should a no fire be suggested to the LN LPI? I'm thinking about trying. Also, if that happens, should it be echoed to all House capitals? Or even all planets with a docking ring? Bit extremer but maybe.

Oh ive seen you've been to alpha lately....

we've had this at Malta for ages, trust me. its a PAIN to keeping watch (this is also why you find "idle" caps close to Malta at all times)

a good advice, if you want this, then be darn sure your patience and judgement levels are over 9000!... anything beneath that and you gonna have a blast biting your eyes out.

Oh and this will also demand people who is NOT afraid of being sanctioned for roleplay killing people breaking liberty rules (yes, you will be flamed, reported, rammed AND KILLED, by those who break the rules)

so i repeat; go ahead, but if you wanna play the game and not guard a planet, then this aint for you. (on the upside, you can now use more time blasting smugglers with solaris and razor dreads)

I don't know why is this such a hard deal. No self respecting pirate roleplayer would pirate outside manhattan. What would mean that all the pirates you find there must engage in some sort of roleplay with you.

Hovering over Newark while being hit by all the guns that can't scratch your OC tridente isn't roleplay in my book. Now its up to admins to see if that's sanctionable or not, but trust me.. No fire zones are hard to enforce and easy to abuse. Headaches 101

Not been to Omicron Alpha in about a year or two, so I can't say much there.

Have you been to Liberty in the last few years? There is ALWAYS a battleship in orbit. If there isn't, the black hole in the centre of our galaxy kills planet.

It would be a pain to do, but it gives the police units a little more 'annoying' RP since its annoying to do, but its better sitting around and listening to people yell over the comms alllllllll the time.

Its Liberty, we get the worst. Its not just that, but Mercenaries and Bounty Hunters come in and try to murder all the smuggler ID's with no actual contraband, so the LPI in RP can't do anything without proof, which I and other had to deal with for about an hour with one individual because of his 'personal' KoS list.

Infact, we do try to keep some sanity outside manhattan. It becomes rather hard when you have a whole heap of outcasts, rogues, xenos, lane hackers, random pirates, mercs and so on trying to come and cover everything in murdersauce.

I even think orbits of planets and surroundings of stations are already No-Fire zones.
Way too dangerous to fire around there.
If unlawfuls appear, well thats something different.
I try to keep the combat at a save distance for stations and planetary orbits as a lawfull character.
Police and Military should try to enforce this.
Which means to tell pilots to cease fire when they do their weapontests 5 meters away from the docking ring.

In Rheinland we try to keep the civilians save that way.

its the same in alpha, Shoot within 5k of the docking rings and you get 1 warning or we perforate the designated ship with harpoons and drag it down to Maltese ground.
