Hey folks, just another thought crossing my unstable mind once more.
What would you think of the mechanic of people donating real money for the purpose of acquiring more funds in-game?
Pro's
Higher chance of income for the server maintenance and bandwidth costs
Possible future hardware upgrades or replacements when needed
Con's
Possibly less trading, but slightly I'd assume
Effectively 'buying' faction status with the 500 million cost
There are likely more things I'm not seeing in my mind right now as usual. That's what a forum is for. Oh and in my theory of this mechanic, one 'purchase' a month would only credit you in-game funds, any more would be just classed as donations. Helps prevent abuse I saw in one game.
No,Big NO and NO ,it will destroy the spirit of the game and the community. This here is not EVE or Warcraft. I don't want to sell my ships in Ebay.:rtfm: If you want to play Freelancer on-line without credit limitation go to play Discovery of Discovery there you will find out only Cap whores with cap 8 ,I use it for test server to test ships there before buy it in the real one, it is funny when I test bombers or the last time Correo and some LOL cap chased me 5 systems to blow my freighter. This will never be implemented in the official server, because it will destroy that community.

(yes, i've seen enough of those lolduels, where house military with overwhelming force on the field willingly loses a pilot in a duel. ffs.)
