Scans of strange wreck

[Shagohad]

Jake, call-sign Shagohad, stared at the wreck of the Liberty gunboat. He frowned at the thought of it being this far into Zoner space.

He nudged his fighter forward. It moved within 800 meters of the wreck. The hull was peeled open and it looked like someone scooped out its innards with a spoon.

"Shagohad, Why are you spending so much time in sector A7 of Omicron-74?" His long range comm barked.

"Sorry sir, but I found something. I should've reported it earlier, but I didn't know what to report it as." Jake replied. He knew Dab was an understanding man, but he could get short with anything.

"Well, have you figured it out?" Dab asked.

"It's a Liberty gunboat. Scanner shows that it's IDed as the Journey. The data recovered from its computer is confusing and hard to make out." Jake replied.

"It's usual for a computer to be harmed in battle." Dab mused.

"No sir. It wasn't even touched by weapons. The memory was wiped and stolen. Some bits of the information is missing." Jake corrected.

"Who'd wanna' take that information and why?" Dab asked.

"My question is why this ship is even here? How did Liberty even get a gunboat out here without us knowing? We've charted all the jump entries, so we couldn't have missed something." Jake said.

"we'll investigate later. I want you to continue your patrol here and leave this case to me and the other officers. We'll be there with research ships and scientists. You did well and we'll let you know what we discover." Dab replied.

"Thank you sir, Shagohad out." With that, he turned and continued his patrol.
