This new class of five ships, a modified "Hatchet" design. Under the program schedule of the Kusari naval Forces, the first warship Takanami class is launched from the Kure shipyards.
Since the begining of war Hatchet class destroyers production has increased as well made some improvements then previous design, that ironicly was established during numerous battles with Bretonia armed forces.
Outer ship design had just a slight modifications, but mainly inner design is changed, featuring more powerfull h-fuel turbines, instead of 2, there are 3 now, which also resulted in larger power output, therefore can fire much longer then previous class. Also Kishiro installed improved hull planes that are able to sustain much more damage.
Ceremony has begun at 1200 hrs at Kure shipyard with all high ranking officials from Kusari Goverment.
One of Kishiro's directors held a breif speach about new improvements of the ship, an then presented new captain that will command this new destroyer, Atsyoki Mizuno, who serves Kusari Naval Forces for 23 years, and has been decorated several times.

Primary function of this ship will be to patrol Kusari house space and trade lanes, but also to aid in battle against Bretonia Armed Forces and Qeen Carina's Privateers which can be seen lately in Kyushu.
