*Disclaimer* This is just another of my ideas, it's not a suggestion i'm posting it so we can discuss it productively.

i know i post a lot of ideas and such and for that i'm sorry but i can't help it....my brain is just geared that way and i can't stop.

anywho.....

Cruise Disrupter Mine

would be used to disrupter pursuers. it'd need to be fast to be able to hit someone in cruise following the person who launched it.

just something i thought of and thought i'd put it out there for us to discuss.

Would surely make pursuits more interesting with the ones being chased spamming these mines like crazy.

The problem with the current chase methods is that no ship can exceed the maximum speed of 350 m/s. I think, that if this speed could vary, like in RL - battleships and transports being slowest and LF mk IIs fastest...

I suggested the CD Mine some time ago, it's possible, I even have the script (from TLR). However, it won't be possible for it to be used in that manner. In order to deploy a mine (as with all of the weapons) you'll have to drop out of cruise.

What about a CD Countermeasure? Is that feasible?

yeah it could be a counter measure.

the draw back of having them would be no missle defense.

the ideal situation would be to have it in mine form but i understand the limitations

lol how about a repair mine which onle repair ships can carry/deploy.

Like the repair gun idea but a repair ship can drop a mine that will fix hull by 2000 and shield by a 1000.

yes the repair ship should be able to repair things...i agree....but that's completely off subject.



can a counter measure be designed to be a CD mine?

So, u guys mean making it possible to fire a cruise distruptor while in cruise speed? Sounds like an interesting idea however, is it possible to mount a cd mine -or whatever it is called- as a countermeasure dropper and of course code it to do so?

just having a mine to drop while in cruise to hit a pursuer and drop them out of cruise
