And yes, already tried Add/Remove programs. It's a cleverly designed little B****.

Go to McAfee and download their Removal program. Its the only way to remove the entire program.

Yeah I had the same thing happen to me. P***ed me off beyond what you cant believe. But went to the site and searced and sure enough there it was McAfee Removal Tool. I was like F McAfee....

And now I have it on my computer again :lol:

Just delete the program files folder. It's demonic, get rid of it as soon as you can. It tried to infect me with a free trial. I had to system restore out of it....

I'm stuck with Norton Internet Security, and sometimes its firewall acts evil, blocking accepted things, but sofar, since the wipe, everything has been running verrry smoothly with norton.

Norton isnt nessicarly evil, just dumb. It doesnt know how to deal with viruses that infect system critical files, such as winlogon.exe. thats why I had to wipe my compy:dry:

A virus infected my Winlogon.exe file, and since its a system critical file, I couldnt just fix it, so I had to wipe my compy and it p***ed me off to much that I almost, and I mean almost, took a sledge hammer to the Norton Disk. $90 (Well, $50 since I got a rebate, and then another discount cause it came with my compy when we bought at circuit city) down the drain... So now I keep a sledge hammer by my desk for when the compy doesnt work for me.

Mcafee is a firewall/security/spyware/antivirus program. It keeps you from playing FL on Vista, but it's a great firewall. Expensive as hell, but it will scan every shot you fire on FL if you want it to. But it blocks everything, even if you put it on the "allow" list. Best to just get ZoneAlarm, and use another anti-virus.
