There were many suggestions about reducing NPC number in the mod. Obviously, many places are quite lonely in terms of NPC population, so I wished to ask if there are any specific places that are too swarmed with NPCs.

The places might be around jump holes/jump gates, near planets or bases, or generally in certain locations like asteroid fields and nebulas. Also, post what exactly NPC type(s) frequent the area.

Feedback most welcome.

I'd have to say Bretonia. I've noticed a swarm of them around every JG and base/planet. New London is the worst. It gets to the point where the FPS is so bad because more just keep coming. It's not battleship patrols, it's little startrackers and hussars. There are soooo many of them that spawn in there.

Another thing i've noticed is in Magellan about 3 k out from Mactan. Rogues, Lane hackers and Outcasts all patrolling out there.

When you undock in Unknown system from planet Gammu or Planet .... (cant remember the second one) There seems to be a trigger near the Mooring fixture, because everytime i dock at one of both planets a new group of nomads spawn, 1 BS 2 GB 4 Fighters, now i dont find it a problem, but it sometimes can get as worse as 5BS's 10 GB's and 20 fighters, now that sometimes brings my FPS down to around 10/15

Fort Bush is by far one of the worst spots to be; can't take battleships in there to farm cruisers or my shields actually start to go pretty fast. Also, Omega-41 and Omicron Gamma, toward the back of the cloud and the Unknown hole.

In general, the houses are too swarmed with low level NPCs. Such as around all of the major planets in Bretonia (New London, Cambridge, and to some extent Leeds). As was said, its just all the annoying Cavaliers and Startrackers.

I really think these should be replaced by alot fewer (but still a number such as 6) heavy fighters which are level 10 such as Templars and light fighter Hussars. Right now, a single pirate can do his job right outside of a planet, and I don't think that should be the case. Also, of all the armed forces, only the RM get the support they deserve from their NPC swarms, but i still think their Valkyrie and Banshee patrols should be upgraded to only slightly fewer Wrath and Phantom patrols. This way, it makes attacks on house bases alot harder, as they should be.

For example, the Corsairs and Outcasts get patrols which hurt, and in the right number. Its pretty hard to get swarmed by them because you never really see more than 8 on your scanners at a time. Even the bounty hunters get commendable forces of Hammerheads, in larger numbers, so that doesn't need to be upgraded each other.

By enlarge, the house patrols need upgrades. However, I constantly see a wing of legionnaire's get kicked in 4 seconds by battleship patrols. Is it possible to make these Decurions?

Essentially, I am suggesting all the NPCs get upgraded to the highest level (still using their current AI though, if thats possible) except mission NPCs.

Also, why are their Corsair Osiris patrols in Omicron Delta, but not in their home Omicron Gamma?:(

Edit: as I am a Corsair and Bounty hunter, you may find the above biased to an extent.

I agree with Jessi about Bretonia.

Planet New Berlin swarms Wraths like mad though. There are usually about 20 wraths after 5 minutes of a hostile being around, and about 10-15 starflier/startrackers along with the freighters they escort.

I was reading through all of these posts before I was going to post this very thing. SIgma 91 is homme to A LOT off freelancers. When you jump into it from Sigma 17, you do get around twelve at a time. Make it closer to three if possible.
