Well, I've just started to play freelancer again...

And im getting huge ping spikes from 250-290 with 5% loss and 26ms fluct.

I ussualy have 155 ping (I dont lag at this ping, its my normal) with 0-1% loss and low fluct and little if any lag.

Soo.... Its the server right? Recovering from juvinile revenge attacks?

Or will I have to slap AT&T again?

Some of the networking hardware got broken so they are using an auxiliary one I think untill they get a new part.

Most annoyingly the DDOS attack seems to have some how broken the fiber gateway. We'll bring the server back up on the backup link in 12 hours while we wait for a new gateway to arrive.

yeah, I've got... 16% LOSS!!! So, I think it's the server, not running any other program.

Actually it is you.

I installed a new piece of software, which digitizes and compress the sound in the players room, then calculates a signature which is transmitted to the server for comparison. If for example the signature equals the signature for "Fix cruise!" it adds 5 ms latency to that connection. If it on the other hand equals the signature for the phrase "I want to you to bear my child, Cannon", it deducts 5 ms latency.

So stop chanting while playing, Cam, and you will find that your lag reduces.
