It was dark, too dark for most. But not for Obliterator. He was in the inner most section of the Temple of the Revenant. Despite appearing normal he was tense, for the first time in many years he could feel the irritating and agitating sense of restriction as the feeling took hold of him. Of course he was tense he had been called to a special briefing, however this was no ordinary briefing, an ordinary briefing would take place on the command deck with Darkstars chief tacticians present but not this time, this time he had been summoned to Darkstars private quarters. Obliterator doubted that even Lord Glock had seen in there before. He also knew that the very thought of being in there made even Onyx shudder, and that suggestion was enough to unnerve even the most battle-hardened veterans in the Phantoms. Whether this was supposed to be some sort of strange honour or not Obliterator was not looking forward to being in there.

Was that discomfort he had just felt? Surely not. He wasnt accustomed to such things but still Darkstar did not like this. He had seen firsthand what Obliterators rage could do. Corruptors knee said it all. But now is not the time for reconsidering. The CTans orders were clear. He did not like it. This would be a situation he had never been in before and that was a scary thing indeed. But now was not the time. Now he had to conduct a very private briefing in his personal space. Darkstar looked behind him. Hmmm I think a partition would be a good idea.

Obliterator was outside the door now. He knocked the door and entered.

To Be Continued.

Part 2
He knocked and entered. The room he saw seemed to be a small antechamber specifically decorated in the manner it was for Obliterators visit. He knew it was far bigger but he couldnt see it due to the rather large partition Darkstar had installed, not that Obliterator wanted to see anymore than he had to. He laughed to himself regardless; at least Darkstar was acting normally.

Sit Slayer said Darkstar. Obliterator bowed and obeyed. I have called you here because no one is to know about this assignment, except those that were involved the last time... Darkstar had to choose his words carefully. Secrecy was the only way for this missions finer objectives to be successfully achieved. This was not a time for a marine assault. This was time for the more subtleness of a slayer, well 2 slayers, Obliterator didnt know about the other one, yet. Your target is well known to you Slayer, if for the wrong reasons. Darkstar slid a datapad to Obliterator who wasnt looking forward to this already. He looked down and dropped it immediately. The name of the planet had been at the top of the data: GY-176.......

*A Memory*
He hadnt felt the excitement of a fresh dig in many years. But this was potentially a big find for him. He had his entire team here and his wife and son. After all these years, an intact jettisoned section of the Hispania. It was in uncharted space and they had to pass through the infamous Omicron Alpha to reach it. But after a round of negotiations and (unknown to his wife a dose of cardamine to seal the deal) He and his senior staff had been able to acquire safe passage to the system, as long as the Outcasts saw a slice of the action. That was only fair after all its their past not his. He was sure there would be plenty of relics for the Outcasts, the Rheinland Natural History Museum and Cambridge University, his joint patrons.
Someone had just run into his office. Dr Jackson sir, we are here. He rose quickly and headed for the bridge. There was his Chief of Security and best friend Carl Liederman. Well Carl is this it? Yes Michael this is GY-176, our destiny... replied Carl. Cut the mystic bullcrap Carl, Im an archaeologist not a religious nut job. If destiny controls me then Id like to see the proof. They both laughed. At this point a young boy ran in. Daddy is that the planet? the small boy asked. Yes it is Jamie replied Dr Jackson as he picked his 6 year old son up so he could get a better look. Cool was all the young boy could respond with........

Slayer... Obliterator! He snapped out of it and looked up. Darkstar was glaring at him. Oh my humblest apologies Lord Darkstar, my mind slipped. Very well but do not let it happen again. Replied an irritated Darkstar. Yes Lord. Now we must discuss your partner......

Part 3:

Obliterator left Darkstars quarters in a very irritated mood. His partner was a new brother who had arrived in Sirius from one of the CTans out of galaxy training fortresses and to make matters worse he was what the phantoms colloquially called a pure spirit. A pure spirit was someone who from an early age was taught and brought up learning that enlightenment was the key to everything. They were the purest of the pure and purer than most of the phantoms anyway.

If it was one of those arrogant know-it-alls then Obliterator would give him a run for his money, and that would be before they met Lord Glock, speaking of which he had to see him and sister Onyx before his departure, the pair of nosey gits wanted to know why he was summoned. Obliterator knew they were jealous. In any case he went to see Onyx first, at least he knew where she would be.

The Interrogation chambers reeked of death, blood and guts. Onyx must be having a good day thought Obliterator as he slipped into the Interrogation Chamber. Inside was a sight, dried blood caked the floor and Obliterator swore he saw several organs and half a head in one corner. Onyx hadnt noticed him, she was too busy with her victim.

He was a tall man with an athletic build, sandy brown hair and a face that may have once been handsome. Teenage girls would have called him a stud, silly word in Obliterators opinion. However Onyx seemed to have exploited it by sticking some studs into him. Obliterator of course used the term studs very loosely, they were actually 2 foot iron spikes slowly pushed into his torso and then pulled out at a speed that caused excruciating pain. That however, did not appear to have broken him. Obliterator knew this was no problem for Onyx, in fact it only made her joy greater for the results would be very horrible for him and no mercy would be given when he eventually did break. A cruel smile was on her lips as she asked Crystal ONI to give her a camera link to Lord Glocks location.

Obliterator recognised his location, the execution square. Glock liked being executioner. Obliterator remembered the day he first embraced it. He had mercilessly executed over 52 Bretonnian pilots well they were trapped helpless in their escape pods for some trivial reason.

Onyx looked at Obliterator with her evil smile, obviously he was about to witness her latest brand of sadistic mental torture. The screen turned to the Phantom Execution detail prepping their weapons. As the screen turned to the prisoner Onyx spoke, You should know that no ship escapes us, despite how many pilots you sacrifice to buy it time. Im sure this little demonstration will permanently scar your mind. The camera stopped at a young woman who was bound and tied, ready for execution. It looked like the firing squad were waiting for the order to shoot.

The man in the interrogation room seemed to lose what colour he had left in his face. No! Not her please thats my fianc?e. PLEASE!!!!! He begged, there seemed to be a tear in his eye. You only have yourself to blame you little worm, and besides she is dead weight, with the emphasis on DEAD! Onyx replied venomously. As if on cue Glock called the firing squad to arms. They took aim. The woman looked terrified, bound and gagged standing their awaiting her fate. The man tried not to watch but Onyx made him. Without a change in emotion Glock gave the marine sergeant in command of the detail the order. He was a Rheinlander who spoke his native language, FEUER FREI! which Obliterator loosely translated as open fire. There were bangs and flashes from the guns as the shots hit the woman. She let out muffled screams of pain for the first 2 shots but the third and fourth killed her outright. Yet another 8 shots hit her. She was quite a mess at the end.

The man in the room let out a scream of anguish as his beloved collapsed dead on the floor. Satisfied with her current progress Onyx turned to the door and exited saying to Obliterator, Lets get GLock and you can tell us what Darkstar is up to. Nosey gits Obliterator replied as he went out the door leaving the now blubbering man in his sorrows, for now at least.
