I'm not sure, if this was ever mentioned, or if anyone ever asked for this - I searched for it and didn't find anything.

So, what I noticed is, the 7th turret hardpoint of the Rheinland Gunboat can fire in a almost 360 angle, it's something around 350 I think. But it can't turn in a 360 angle. Why isn't it made that the Turret can turn in a full circle (not shoot, just TURN) so that it doesn't have to turn the whole way back when firing a bit left or a bit right to the front of the ship?

It's kinda annoying, and would be really nice if this would be "fixed"/changed.

Game mechanics limitation I think. Anyways, just put a Rheinland Missile Turret there, should fix the problem, and Rheinland's got some of the best gb missiles in the mod.

It's not a mechanics limitation. I know it can be changed. The same thing happens with two of the turrets on the Osiris. Either it's been done on purpose, or it's an oversight.

I beleive it is because if the turret was able to fire directly forward, it would hit the section of hull protruding in front of it. So it can't.

As I said, it's not about the shooting angle, it's about the turning. I know it would hit the "diagonal" section.

And...It can almost fire straight to the front anyway. Maybe putting a missile there is really the best choice, going to consider that.

wouldnt matter, plenty of capships in this mod 'fire through' their own hull with some of their turrets. You dont take damage from your own weaponry, unless it's explosive weaponry (missiles/mines/torpedoes/etc.)

Many of those are unavoidable, though.

Plus, if the 7th turret on the RHGB were to fire forward, it'd likely get nerfed in some other aspect, so be careful what you wish for.

And no, the firing arc and the rotation arc are one in the same. It's not possible to allow the turret full 360 degree turning radius while keeping it's 320 degree firing arc.
