Jumping issue

[Aemx]

I've got a problem. Each time i use a jumpgate, there appears to be around 25% chance of my pc restarting just a second before arriving in the new system. It happens both in multiplayer and Open SP. I've never encountered this sort of bug in the original Freelancer >_>
Curiously enough, it's never happened when i used jump holes. But it still manages to make some of my trade routes really, r e a l l y frustrating ><
A friend of mine has the same issue as well, and I think it's discovery...

has anyone ever had this horribleur issue before?

EDIT: It seems that they happen a lot in NY, California and New London, while jumping to/from these systems ><

Has never happened to me, but it sounds like your CPU or videocard is overclocked too high, or you need a bigger powersupply. Sounds hardware-related, anyway.

2.4 gHz, 512mb RAM, 128mb video memory.
Freelancer takes about a quarter of that, i can easily run photoshop at the same time without lag >_>
and, why jumpgates?

i have same problem, NY-Texas, all jump gates to new tokyo, all to new london...new berlin too

all people who play with me know that i never use gates to move around. i always use holes...

yeah, after a while i started avoiding gates too, but my route passes from magellan to minor _-_'

last time, when it crashed during the california>magellan jump, i landed 100k from the damned trade lanes, far beyond the system map +_+

I had the same problem some days ago.
without being connected to a server, switch off 3d audio, then it should work.

Run the game, go to Options, Audio, and Turn off 3D sound. If that doesn't work, update your video card drivers..

That will fix it. (Atleast it usually does)

ya..that is true...3d sound fixes this bug..lol...i forgot to mention that..

but i still avoid jump gates...force of habit...:)

I had a similar bug when I alt-tabbed Freelancer when docking to jumphole and opening RAdmin viewer. Seems to be a severe and rarely reproduced vanilla bug.

Did it happen with 4.83 or 4.84 with you?
