Igiss, is there any way to tell from the mission description whether it will involve fighting battleships? I've taken missions as low as $330K where, as a fighter, I've had four battleships appear, making it next to impossible. Is there a mission value, above which, battleships might be involved? If so I'll know to avoid these when flying a fighter.
Role-played characters:
daedalus - Liberty Navy
bandersnatch - Ruthless criminal possessed by a (huge) alien
Shredder - Small-time Kusari pirate, looking to join the Blood Dragons
"Bounty Hunters. We don't need that scum." - Admiral Piett
Crete has them too along with Malta and few other places. I think I've seen battleships on missions as low as 150k. However, correct me if I'm wrong, but battleship missions are limited to destroying ships. So if you choose an assassination or cargo mission you should be okay.
I did an assassination mission from malta and had my taget and his 4 wingmen in BS's  I had a Huegenot at the time. So far no cargo missions i've done have had BS's as the target, sometimes the high ranking missions will be against a BS other times it'll be a swarm of NPCs. The first mission i did for the Outcasts on malta was a low level one and my back up was 4 Outcast liberty dreadnoughts :shok: I didnt kill many ships in that mission

No. i only need 2. 3 at the most.
The problem is that you fire a lot of novas at once. When the first one detonates, the shockwave detonates all the torps within range too. So if you fire 5 novas, the first one will damage the ship, and the rest will be destroyed by the first one without having hit the target.
So when firing novas, make sure to put 300m of distance between torpedoes.
(If you find any mistake in my English, please let me know via a PM)
(Really, I speak terrible English, so please, tell me if I make mistakes. I'd like to improve it a bit )

Is that why my novas never seem to do much damage on my LAN

It was Single shot, on each Run, and was targeting the Nose and it still took 12, maybe a glitch, but i ran into the same problem with Nomad Battleships too.

I fired 5 or 6 shots from 8 cruiser missile turrets at a nomad BS and the damage didnt evn show up :( Since 2 others had also turned up I was forced into a "tactical withdrawl" :D (thats ran away incase your wondering)

Well there is your problem. I've tested this with an Osiris, Liberty Dreadnaught, and a Huegenot. DO NOT fire torps into the nose of a capship. It will reduce the damage done by 2-3 the original damage. Always hit the side or engine. On Korrd's server a few weeks ago Virus was shooting novas at me one hit the nose and did no damage i could see. Not even a bar off my Huegenot's hull.
