Hi, I started installing Freelancer and when I get to 37% I get this blasted error message. Freelancer Setup has encountered a disc error while writing to the file C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Freelancer\data\audio\pilot_f_mil_m01a.utf. Make sure your hard disk is not full, and that the file is not in use.
1. I have Way more then enough room on my HD
2. I tried a different path.
3. My disk is in very, very good shape.
4. Is this game compatible with Windows XP service Pack 3?

Help me Obi Wan Kenobi; you're my only hope.
I'd suggest trying a different disc... Maybe an iso version.
Yeah, I used to run it on an old XP SP3 machine not so long ago.

well I mean in the setup screen it shows the ID that you use, so you can play MP. I used to play discovery long back before the Gallia update came out. I was hoping to hop right back in It:)I lost my old forum name so I Just created a new one

Oh... Just put that into FAM and keep it safe there.
Oh wait so how am I supposed to put my account in there when I can't install the game:(. Do I have to do something manually or should I Just wait until I have the ISO version installed?
On freelancer account manager aka FAM Do :
Scan for a new registry
Then you export to file
Click on all files
Send it somewhere that is NOT in freelancer folder/ preferrbly in your windows account then documents
Wa zam!
Also after that try re installing. If you do accidently lose your accounts and freelancer starts working. Uhm. I could always help you start up
