The Liberty Carrier replacement poll!

So, we have two carriers, the first by Korolia:



And the second by Xing, submitted by myself:

Please vote for which one you feel should be included in the mod. Of course, the final desicion will likely be made by the devs, and it is possible either submiter may remove their model from the mod.

If you have any information or opinions regarding either model, please feel free to post. I do NOT however want people criticising other people. If you want to criticise the model, so be it, but not the creators thank you. Also, this is regarding these two models only, please ignore any other submissions either modeller may have designed in the past.

Well as a start if we're supposed to ignore other user's submissions this poll is a tad biased. I'm of the opinion neither model is of the quality or calibre we should be asking for and expecting at this point.

On the subject of details I think the ones that are present are over used and far too abundant. I'm spoiling my vote and saying neither. If the newest design were refined a step further I think it would be a better fit, fewer details everywhere, more work put into the engine components, cleaning up the textures.

Right now I think it's too busy.

Fewer details? I think that ships should have more details, make them look better. The point of the poll is to be unbiased by only looking at the designs in question, I don't see how ignoring other submissions makes this a biased poll.

Next, if you feel both designs are bad, then I don't know what to suggest. Perhaps if you could make a model of how you feel it should look like, we would have another possibility to choose from, and perhaps a better mod for it. However, at this point in time, with 4.86 around the corner and with the knowledge we do NEED a new carrier, we only have these two options.

I also am not voting, as one of them is being submitted by me. I do feel that Xing's has a rather large issue in that there are few good turret placement points, I had huge trouble hardpointing it, and I'm still not happy with the amount of guns that can only point forwards.

Because you phrased it as a replacement poll and only included models by one user I find the nature of this poll unfair to the people who have put forward other designs.

I don't have time to make another carrier, if it comes down to a choice of one of the two, pick the better. But I stand by my assessment that neither model is up to the standards we should be keeping.

I don't deny that these are the forerunners in models ready for submission however.

I'm not satisfied with any of those. Xing's holes don't seem to make much sense and the other one is just too spammed with unnecessary <strike>details</strike> geometry.

The second option personally, the first is overdone. It's like a bad guard system, just far too much going on and completely out of place.

They both are a bit meh though. Better than what we currently have (Which I swear Xing made as well) but not great.

Yet, I still can't decide, both ships could be a perfect replacement for that flying brick that is called a Liberty Carrier right now... so no vote yet ..
