Are the Gaians terrorists? Is the Gaian ID a terrorist ID?

Yes and no.

The Gaians are terrorists, but their ID is a Pirate ID, much like Bundschuh and the Blood Dragons.

This is what I was thinking... The massive amount of trade between Harris and MCduff has been doing damage to the Tau-31 systems ecology, this would enrage the Gaians especally because they were against the planet harris development to begin with. Why would gaians ask for money from traders when what they want is the traders gone. My question, would a gaian be within server rules to kill traders without asking for money?

i think its more about out of character balance. keep the terrorist IDs to a minimum. in my opinion, pirates act on a rather small scale. they do not seek to overthrow a system/goverment structure. they even support the capitalism and free trade.
terrorists on the other hand are rather unhappy with how things go in sirius. they wish for a whole new rule. so i would say that terrorists have a vision beyond making money, while pirates are rather interested in making easy money cause they are either forced to do it that way or cause they like it that way. however - a pirate would most likely not want to die for it, while a terrorist might do just this.

now back to the topic - many of the so called pirates in sirius appear to be rather terrorists who USE piracy as a means to operate their "greater plans". making them all terrorists would hurt the gameplay though, i think. that is mostly cause it requires a good bit of roleplay to be a "responsible terrorist" - a terrorist that really works for the greater plan - and then there is the problem that freelancer is not so much dynamic that there s any visible effect on any efford towards a greater plan.

you can t kill certain number of X factions so they will disappear from a system for some time. you can t scare .. lets say planetform and spa and cruise out of a system by killing their convoys. they just respawn mindless like ever before. so its sort of hard to really be a terrorist.

so i think the pirat part of the terrorist ID is a compromise to make those factions playable in a roleplay way. one can say that - the player gaians are there to earn money for the terrorist NPCs that fly against the other NPCs in their literally endless struggle for nature, flowers and happiness - whatever.

Read the ID, and follow what it says on there please. Gaian show as terrorists, but RP as pirates.

Hoodlum, I know people try to get over all the time through loopholes in the rules, but I think It's valid to ask why things are the way they are. I want to RP within the rules and be part of the community here on the fourms, and I dont think it helps to make people feel welcome, when yo make comments like "Just read the ID and due it that way." Yes I read the ID and I still was counfused about the concept of terrorists vs pirates and I brought it to the fourm so I could find out more, so I could play within the rules. Now my new question for hoodlum is, Isnt that what I should be doing?

EDIT: And if you've ever dealt with me here or online, you would know that I am not just trying to get through loopholes, I have a yearnining for serious, deep, multi-faceted RP and that cant be done in just one or to ways, It depends on the charectoer, and I am trying to make my charecter the way I want it for the way I want to RP, and still be within the rules.

Zelot, that is all I can say. The Gaians purport to be one thing in their rumours and base stories, but the ID
says they are pirates. To stay within server rules, you have to follow the ID, and there is nothing I can do
about that unfortunately. Its not a loophole either.
The true terrorist ID is locked away by the admins, as it is a license to kill, with little RP involved to those
less scrupulous players. You could apply for one, once your RP story is up and running, but again I have
no control over that either, and you will have to have a very good reason, and have been here a little
time to show you are worth the consideration.
I can't answer every single post with a full explanation of the terrorist ID, as the question gets asked with
monotonous regularity. Its not, and won't ever be available to every player here.
Sorry to be the bearer of bad tidings ...
