I have to get rid of some air.
I was on in another char in ny and it only took me 10 min to spot 6 players above lvl 40 with freelancer ID.
The highest was lvl 69 and nobody asked him. when i asked him i got the answer " i got a money transfer" then he logged off.
For me it lookes like players give a damm about the LVL 40 rule. I do not hope this is true.
But if it is then admins maby have to make the peanlaty for breaking the lvl/freelancer rule so that it can be feelt.
Clover just had 2 outcast destroyers pass her in leeds, when i disrupted the lane. 2 destroyers - both with freelancer IDs. - well, i just ignore them - they are not part of the roleplay, so why bother. they are as thin air to me as neutral chars.
You had an interesting day, eh? Welcome to Discovery, btw.
I can assure you that our Admins are a hardworking and conscientious bunch. There are also "The Angels" who hang about Manhattan and try to "guide" newer players in the right direction. One or two of the older Independents also try to sort things out when possible.
Unfortunately, these helpful folk can just not be "on" 24/7, due to R/L commitments and time zones.
You're correct in assuming that these folk you saw are not exactly playing in the spirit of things. There are numerous ID's available at and within a stone's throw of Manhattan for those players who suddenly "swell up" due to a cash infusion. A real pity they can't spend the time and the cash to correct their OORP situations. I guarantee that if they do it in front of Admins or other older "vets", they will not be allowed to continue in their nonchalant ways for very long atall, atall.
Alright, to end this topic quickly before flames erupt. Understand, Discovery have now become VERY popular. Yes, more of the people coming are either cheaters, modders, or just won't follow the rules. There are those lucky few who actually get along, but most aren't. What can we do about it? Only one thing... Warn em that they've done something wrong. If they refuse, spam your print screen key and send it in...
quite a negative point of view - i d say that the most of the players try to play by the rules and only a minority violates them. only thing is - you won t really notice the silent one that is playing by the rules. but you ll only notice the one that violates them. other than that - a populated server is a good one - more human on the server = more fun
' Wrote:here's the thing...quite often, you get your money, and then you need to get repped before you can buy an id....common practice.
..and why would it be so bloody difficult to keep your character under level 40 until that is accomplished?
I'll tell you why.. sheer laziness, and disregard for the rules.
"Common practice" be damned. A trader ID, A Lib Police ID, even a bloody Junker ID are not that hard to acquire as "stopgap" measures. Or fly your little starflyer to wherever you need to "rep up" and acquire your rep and cash after you've done the bloody work.
i think, when someone make a new char, and then make a money transfer.he still begin in new york or no?and is so big problem buy neutral id on mannhatan? i think no.
and i also think hugo is meaning two outcast destroyers that was in gamma and when was asked why they has not buy id on the same base as ships, then answer was because we are not friendly to outcast....(and police tagged outcast destroyer with freelancer id in gamma docking on crete is totaly out of rp i think)
