Soooo....I start freelancer. I press multiplayer, choose a server. Any server. Any disco server, anyway. They're the ones there.

I click.

I get sign "I'm sorry, you cannot yada yada internet problems, try again later"

always. Whut?

I've got freelancer allowed through my firewall, and...there don't seem to be any other conflicts.
What's wrong?

Running vista and stuff.

I've been getting that message a lot lately due to the server being full.

Server is not full: It doesn't work on any of the other Disco servers, either.

My firewall is supposedly letting disco through, and running as admin didn't help...Running trend micro office scan: School provided.

Add freelancer to all exception list possible.
From anti virus, antivirus Fire wall, windows defender, windows firewall etc.
It can also be your router it's firewall

I swapped to Avast Antivirus, and it went fine. Once all the updates were downloaded anyway. Before that I was getting the same problem.

Avast, updates, run as Admin. That should sort it.

Have you tested running FL with Trend Micro removed to see if it's the root of the problem?

See, but here's the thing. I've got the windows default firewall, and an antivirus that only does antivirus. There's only one firewall here: The router is a school network, and has every port open. Or every port I've ever encountered before, anyway.

Is sounds like it's going to be your anti-virus.

It's the active scanner that messes it up or something.

You're going to want to try to uninstall it.

I've now switched it to AVG free, which worked in the past, and is not scanning or anything. Still can't log into any server.

Can't turn off my anti-virus and check, because my school likes to quarantine me if I'm not wearing protection. They're afraid of the Herp.

Any other ideas?
