I dont know what the rest of you think, but the way NPCs use there regains is VERY anoying.

It doesnt make it so much more difficult as just plain agonizingly boring... flying about locked in combat with the same NPC for 5 minutes, detaching just about every piece of equipment it has in the process to the point its nothing but a chunk of flaming twisted metal that still manages to have nearly full hull.

And before you even get down to hull, theres shields, wich when dropped, the NPC uses a SINGLE battery to simply bring them back online. so that they can reabsorb a full volly. And because of the brief immunity after dropping shields, the next two or three followup shots dont do any damage, or very little.

Like I said, this doesnt make them more difficult, they still dumb**** around like in regualar freelancer and do there stupid twisting and turing or sitting on the edge of battle shooting a few weakly aimed shots now and then, and i dont know if its possible to mod a new AI for them so they shoot more aggresively.

well...the NPCs do have a new AI...
and...work on your aim.
you gotta hit the centers, not the wings.
I do wish I could use only one bat at a time...cause, once the shield is back, it starts regenerating......

then we would have us a 7 hour showdown with a 1v1 battle it would be the most horrible thing in existance enough people run around like they a***** on fire enough as is when they're shiled goes down (call it dodging id call it shield running) just a very bad way to do things. i say GET RID OF EM ALL COMPLETELY haha.

never been a big fan of bats/bots anyway horrible things only reason they was put in the game was to make the SP mode possible with a crapper ships heh

but yeah back to the point as unselie said aim better hehe they aint all that bad. well they are near the start of the game i guess but once you get yourself a good ship you should be tearing down most fighters in no time at all

I dont know man... Lag makes it really hard to aim correctly when NPCs suddenly snap from being infront of you to behind you instantly, or drift off 5K away and suddenly pop back in range.

Accually this is what makes the NPCs regaining so anoying.. is that lag on top of it.


Personally i would like to see an end to regains all together...

Too bad regains cant be somthing like a repair over time, so it takes like 10 seconds to repair damage once activated. Kinda like... reverse radiation damage.

The lag is a pain, I agree. But if you think of it... although we see them as NPC's, in RP, they are also pilots. Which makes the use of bots/bats a bit more realistic.

NPC using all their guns would be cool.
I don't agree with lowering NPC toughness. They already fall like flies against most players...

I mean id rather they removed them from being able to be used all together... Like maybe just reduce the number you can carry to like... 10 on bigger ships lol

The regenerating NPC's is part of what made me like this mod so much in the first place. The NPC's in the original game were waaaaaay to easy and boring, even the nomads.
