Okay, I've shot down hundreds of Bloodhounds in SP. In fact, that's how I made a lot of money: go Bloodhound hunting, because they're so weak. Even the NPCs using bots/batts doesn't make them much tougher when they're flying Bloodhounds.

Buuuut . . .

I know how those things ought to be flying and moving. But in MP (specifically on the RP server), the things jerk and twist suddenly, far more quickly than even a Drake or Arrow could manage. And, by the way, making them devilishly annoying. No threat, even to my crappy Starflyer, but they take quite awhile simply because they are difficult to hit when they're moving like that.

Is that what lag does, and is there any way to reduce it? Because it is extremely annoying.

I know Discovery has a better AI - but I've still destroyed dozens of Bloodhounds without trouble in open SP. I think that my problem is simply lag . . . I mean, those ships have a certain speed at which they can strafe and turn. To see them exceeding that in an obvious way makes it seem to me that it's not an AI deal. =P So, lag . . . hmm. Probably also has something to do with the fact that I'm sharing my internet connection with two other computers in the house. =\ Thanks for the assistance!

Yes what you describe is normal. Wait till you face a Legionnaire.... also known as the RSI-maker.

Ooh, and be glad there aren't any Slpistream or Scimitar NPCs; Those'd be real buggers to kill. I'd be afraid to try it in bloody Gunboat. ANd just wait till you see the Nomad NPCs in the new version, they have battleships worrying.

Those Legionnaires can make a grown man cry - know loads of pilots that leave them alone because of how the blinking lag effects them.

Aye . . . last night, the yellow and red lag icons were flashing on my screen most of the time I was on. Twice, I was blown up while waiting to dock, but thanks to the lag I literally never got to know what killed me. There were no threats on the scope; indeed, nothing other than what I was trying to dock with! D= It went like this: lag, "shields down", lag, "BOOM!", "WTF?" =P
