After the disappointing results from the first time OSC was created, it has become apparent that changes needed to be made. There have been signs that there is still interest in this idea, but one major flaw kept us from really becoming what I had envisioned. Lack of consistant leadership. Whenever I took a leave of absence for more pressing matters, the group fell apart.
For that reason, the following changes will be instated, once we have regained sufficient numbers to make it work.
First, there will be more than one Senior Vice President. I will continue in that role, but I will be adding two more such positions when I find people who are up to the task.
Second, there will be no more subdivisions of the company, until such time as the divisions can sustain themselves. There will still be roles assigned to each type of ship, but they will all operate as one group.
Finally, the formation of a corporate bank vessel. This vessel will be the repository for the corporate funds. A large portion of all funds obtained through our trade and cruise operations will be placed on this ship. At first, it will be one of our Luxury Liners, but if I can get approval, I would like to make it a Battlestar Advanced, as the description of that ship class indicates that the corporation owns one. It will be stationed at Curacao and will serve as our flagship. It will not be used for anything else, unless dire cirumstances arise requiring its presence elsewhere.
That being said, recruitment for OSC is once again open. All existing members may continue to use their ships if they choose.
Just thought I'd mention, I'm working on integrating the above changes into the faction description. I don't have the energy to type it all out now, though. Perhaps in the morning.
