Forums server downtime warning thread

[ArmsAndLegs Guy]

Due to Microsoft Patch Tuesdays issue of 9 important OS updates and 2 less important updates for Server 2008 R2, the forum server will need to be rebooted. This will take place Wednesday 11 August at 04:00 CET (02:00 GMT). The forums will be unavailable for about 10 minutes.

Everytime I see a little outage like this I can't help but think back to the first server I ever played on.

We where online playing, suddenly the server died. When it came back online, the console message said "Sorry guys, I tripped over the power cable."

We use wireless electricty on the servers here at the Lost Battlestar. Makes life so much easier after half a case of beer. And its fun to see Hoodlums hairdo after he stumbles into the transfer field :

Yes. The gentleman standing up is Fellow Hoodlum. The gentleman sitting down is Cannon. The creature mostly comparable to a Wookie sitting down in the front is Bear. The picture was taken by yours truely, in the Lost Battlestar's briefing room during Bear's recent education and training as an Admin.

Hoodlum was demonstrating the finer art of crushing the testicles of OORP chatters in new york, using the potato in his hand as an example, when he inadvertently wandered into the Wireless Electricity field used to power the servers, hence his hairdo.

True story.
