With the continued war with the Kusari, the rise of violence in the Dublin system, the constant annoyances in the Cambridge system, the overstretched Bretonian forces in Cortez, Omega 3 and 7 and the disturbing intelligence reports of a Gallia buildup, the Bretonian government was tasked with the implementation of two new classes of vessel. The Command Carrier and a Light Cruiser. This is the former.

(With feedback from several Bretonians, these are two ship types that seem to be the most needed, and with the impending war with Gallia combined with the current warzone situation, I thought I'd get modelling. I'm aware the deadline has passed, and I know I probably wont get any kind of exception here, but it's worth a shot. The modelling is almost completed, as is the texturing).

A separate thread will be opened for the Bretonian light cruiser, once I'm finished with the command carrier. :)

I could really love that model ... If it weren't for that huge ring. And the engine looks kinda weird too.

Other then that, bleeping awesome.

I would say this is an awesome model, but the engine could be modified as it looks like a bee-hive and as for the rings, possibly make them a bit smaller. Reminds me of the Zoner Juggernaut so far. Nonetheless tune it up, and it'll look god-like.

I like it, a lot. Although the rings don't fit in with the bretonian line, they look pretty damn sexy!

Only thing I can say is the head and the engines. The head should be a little fatter, with the lower bit extending towards the body more. Also, try to make the tail more curved and fishlike, possibly going over the engines a little. Of course, the engine does look a little weird too.

Cheers matey, Well the idea for the rings is to invoke a silhouette-like appearance of a stingray, in keeping with the fishyness of Bretonia. I've removed the rings before, but it doesn't look as nice imho, and too similar to the Bretonian Battleship in shape.

Noted about the engines, I guess I'm just toying with different ideas how Bretonia's technology could be enhanced between .85 and .86. I suppose it doesn't help that the engine area isn't textured, so it makes it look worse than it may otherwise be. But I'll go ahead and texture the area and see what happens, if the overwhelming feedback for that part of the model is negative, I'll alter it.

Thanks for the other points, I'll see how i can evolve it further. :)

Dont even compare that to the Zoner Juggernaut - it has no resemblance at all.

Now back to the model-

Fhloston - the model looks good - more of an "import" than a Freelancer look. The "huge" rings, I don't know where in the hell you pull that out from, but they got to go if you want it as a Bretonia Carrier. The nose reminds me of the IMG Carrier, which in terms, IMG and Bretonia are >:( - so they cannot share there same designs or else their rage will turn into molten lava. Take a look at the Bretonia Battleship - the front looks very roundish than a "point" nose.

Hmph... the engine...

*looks at him and rolls new paper*

You don't want to get smack with a news paper, don't you? The engine does certainly looks like a beehive like ghost face posted. Again, look at the Bret. Battleship - get a good look around it and mix it with your ideas.

The poly count is tremendously high. Try to reduce it to 8k or 9k polies. Remember, you have to mount turrets and other equipments on it. So, you have it as 11.5k polies, (if its not triangulated), if you take that and multiply it by 2 = it will become 23k polies. That means - you only have 3k of space to mount equipment.

Peacekeeper Command Dreadnought - Nightstalkers Universe. That's the first thing I thought. The model is cool, but the ring doesn't fit.

Command carrier, isn't it? I interpreted that as not being publicly available. Which means it'll be a kinda unique ship. That having been said, I agree with everything else you say.

I'm sure you can make it look more freelancerish without removing the rings somehow.

Trust me, without the rings you have an almost carbon copy of the Bretonian Battleship.
:)

Trust me guys, I've based the design largely on the the Bretonian Battleship profile. The head is the same general shape with the shovel-looking spade section at the bottom. The mid-section hull is humped, just like the battleship, and the engine casing arch shares a similarity with the battleship too. I'm not looking to copy anything else of the battleship, I just want it to look as though its progressed from that design.

Thanks for the comments!

@ Luis, if you mean the Zephyr Carrier nose, I honestly can't see the similarity. Good points elsewhere though.
