Lemme guess. Salvager? You may be mining in the wrong field. As long you have mining turrets mounted, you should get the bonus. Unless Dusty lied to us.

Actually... You need to -Hit- the Rocks with Mining Turret to get the Bonus, having it Mounted is not enough.

If you shoot an asteroid with a mining ship using a mining laser with the proper ID and IFF you get X times Y.

So yeah... Basalt Forward Turret please. >.>

I got a basalt(just for fun when I want to feel like a noob again) and I hate the fact it can't shoot forward with the turret. Me wants forward shooting mining turret!

there is a trick with the veiw button to do this...i beleive holding down v for long amounts of time will allow you to effectively mine in the basalt..but of course with tremendous difficulty

How about giving the basalt class 8 and 9 guns? you know... actualy give the miner line a real light fighter...

I love that little thing cause its one of the only light fighters that can mount a MR... however.. it does not have the power to fire it Q_Q_Q_Q_Q

That was my first thought as well. If you want a fighter-y light miner, I'd say use the Dacite. That one does have your forward firing turret.

But this news about normal guns giving the same yield... I'm going to do a little statistical experimenting on that soon, see if that's true. (Basic test: Shoot rocks till 100 ore pieces have come out, and note the yield on each one. Do this for mining gun and standard gun on craft with mining gun equipped - Should tell if shooting with a mining gun has any impact).

I'll post the results back. It's either that or prying apart the scripting on this module to see what's what...

That was my first thought as well. If you want a fighter-y light miner, I'd say use the Dacite. That one does have your forward firing turret.

If You want a good small mining ship I recomended Dacite - forward firing turret + ability to use 2x9 lvl guns and 4x 10 lvl guns 1xTorpedo or CD - makes him quite good ship, even for fight.

Some say that is ugly - but I like the way what it looks.
