What is a large mod? Somewhere above 20-30 Mb. No need to explain what's total conversion... so Discovery shouldn't be discussed in this topic, as well as 98% other mods that are released at TLR almost every day.

I did try almost all of those mods to run on a server before I've decided to start my own mod. There seemed to be flaws in each, and apart from that, they all were too far from Original Freelancer for my needs. The mod that really seemed to be better (better balanced and with more useful new features) than others was Evolutions. However, that's just my personal opinion, and I'd like to hear any of less biased opinions on this subject. Probably many of you played on servers with different mods...

Evolutions is the best out of those. Evo 2 doesn't deserve to exist.

The only one i've tried if rebalance, so I don't think I could give a fair answer. Maybe I should look these up some time and try them out. Evolutions is at the top of my list, BTW. ;)

im picky and the other mods didnt apeal to me this one seems more balenced with prices although you should add in some new systems and maybe add in a coaltion universe or something and make some ships for them yadda yadda but that would be a big extensive project otherwise im happy with this mod out of all the mods ive seen although i did find ones with cool looking ships that were overpowered and underpriced

There is no such thing as the "Coalition universe". We wouldn't be attacking Sirius if there was one.

Well I would vote in this order according to the ones I have played.:
1. Evo, I played it since 1.28
2. TNG, played since 2.56
WTS, played for about 1 month SP around 6 mths online,
EVO has great ships, My personal fav was the Hellhound, Rogue Very Heavy Fighter.
TNG was great made 100% more diffacult, the Rutar VHF was really cool, and the Hellfire Fire friggate, was real sweet.
WTS: nice lay out, some nice ships, Omega Destroier, for one. Yet the Mod is way un balenced, ships are way over powered.

to some extent all the above are, now I am playing Discovery 4.81,
Mostly SSP as my net connection is intermintent.

What would be real awsome would be a Mod that incorperated the best of Disc, Evo, and TNG. the SHips from all three, the Difaculty from Evo and TNG, and the Balancing of Disc, but I would ask two things, Make Stations buyable, and make Station and Cap ships in a league all there own, ( it would take a cap ship to kill a cap ship, ect.. But because they would be so powerful, the price should be set at like $950,000,000 with the cap on credits set at the normal 1 billion. Stations would cost $999,999,999. Starting credits for a new player would be set at $500 credits, I know that makes it real hard to get started, but it also gives people incentive to get out there and make a living. :-}

Um. old thread revived.

Well, I've only played DFL too.
I tried EVO (or was TNG?), but only for a day or so. I liked the power core and engines concept. They make ships more customizable. And also makes many ships usable, not only the same 3 fighters. That is because you get a base ship, and upgrade it according to your needs.
