So, Connecticut is basically an oorp system, yeah?

Can we do this:
  • Make the Connecticut jumphole into a jumpgate
  • Better yet, make that a specialized jumpgate with a docking-bay type of thing behind the entrance and a general base attached
  • Turn the starsphere for Connecticut into a more bland/symbolic-looking representation
  • Perhaps alter the jumping animation (a'la nomad jumpstuffs) to make it look electronic
Point is, we make an Ageira base (or anyone else, really. Interspace, whatever.) into a "simulation generator" for what becomes Connecticut. It looks mechanical and technological because it is -- it becomes a computer simulation, where your ship is "scanned" (the docking part) and entered into a simulation program where others are present to test fighting skills. In "real life" your ship will be docked automatically at the simulation base until you return.

Could be RP explained as a military training project from the LSF and LN. Or something along those lines, taken civilian by <insert corporation>.

With this, we can justify the system in-RP and also feel good about adding more of them in other houses. In the end, the system could be more explained in RP (or at least leave it open to storywriting/telling), and it'll be acknowledged that going there is also acceptable oorp (for unlawfuls' sake).

Yeah? Nah? Hopefully this is just the right amount of inRP and ooRP to balance its utility and still reconcile the fact that it's there.

If it was turned into a in RP system, no one else but people in/around Liberty would be able to go there, because it would then be a in RP system.

I've always RP'd in a group in Conn, but when I'm in system I OOC, I think of it as We're ( the people in Conn ) are testing out new Communication array's which always give out static..
I treat Conn as like a Hologram Room ( Like the holograms on Star Trek ) which was man made from all the factions from Liberty somehow.

My opinion is outdated

conn itself has no RP, but I've treated it as an arena system, like the Colosseum from rome.

And that's why we could build more in the other houses.

I mean, really? Did you just read the subject and say "hey, I can comment on that" and went straight to reply?

Uh. Connecticut is nice because anyone can go there. If it became house specific, it would be worthless.

Not everything needs to be rationalized by roleplay.

Hey...I like that idea, then we dont have that nonsense about people heading to Conn' to do something very ORP. The combat simulation idea sounds really interesting to RP;)Nice one.

Unlawfuls in Conn could be RP'd as an AI generated opponents.

Nope, I read it and that was my opinion. I will go into more detail for you, seeing as to how dense you are on the matter.

Connecticut is in the middle of Liberty Space. Suddenly it becomes a Roleplay system. Meaning, there will be no more OOC trips for anyone else that doesn't reside in or close to Liberty to go there. Each house would then need their own Roleplay Virtual pew pew system (which was stated above).

This as well.

Leave Connecticut the way it is.

I don't see any fit purpose for it at all. This is a roleplay server, we don't need a PvP system. I understand the need for people to get out of the RP sometimes or to engage in training, but it has no values within RP. If I see somebody come out of that hole then I can only pretend that they do not exist as I cannot possibly have an answer within RP (I could be imaginative, but logic gets in the way, I mean it's already bad enough having to claim that somebody "cloaked").

What would be better is a command that can beam people in and out of a closed system. It would be suitable if no player file changes would ever be made whilst in that system (which means that when somebody dies, they return to where the left and will have to reissue the command if they wish to go back). Naturally, one would have to be docked for the commands to work in order to prevent abuse.

Another thing that annoys me about Connecticut is the sheer amount of kill messages showing up when it's populated. I have resorted to disabling non-system reports because of this, which means that I cannot keep tabs on events within the house that I am in.
