for news:
I was thinking, since so many newbies don't bother appreciating rules/ player faction rules, wouldn't it be good to have an announcement or a sticky on local station news with a post with player faction house rules? Maybe a guide of how to RP?

Important information about flying in bretonia (or something phrased better:P)
obviously this would appear on lawful bases in bretonia

for mollys you can have a post about how they RP in dublin, etc.

for SNAC
is it possible to have different hull types on ships so that if a SNAC hits a SHF or smaller, it would do as much damage as a mini-razor?

I'm not suggesting this really, but im curious if thats even possible

That'd be unfair for people who use Snacks. People should just learn to dodge. Or shield run, but then our characters will mock you.

If they don't bother going on the forums to find this stuff, I find it even less likely that they'd read what shows up in the news for the bar. Although it could help I guess, to have the information in as many places as possible.

well, forums are the repository of knowledge that is too big to browse easily

and before i used the forums, I know that i read the news from station to station, each one had tid-bits of what was going on in the story of that particular mod version.

I think this would result in 10% less lolwuts that smuggle stuff through a war zone and are oblivious as to why law enforcement is after them.

The forums are not hard to search. If the search feature for the webpage doesn't work, I'd suggest the following google search:

inurl:discoverygc.com/forums/ SEARCH TERMS HERE

If looking for a phrase, enclose that phrase with quotation marks ("SEARCH TERMS HERE"). Learn to use Google properly, and you'll be able to find anything.
And if you'd prefer a more organized database of information, try the wiki, it's fantastic. Sure, not all the information is up to date, but the vast majority is.

ye ye, Let's Nerf Bombers even more, so those loltards who are stupid enough to joust Bombers live long enough to maybe shoot the Bomber down with a bit of luck. Such a Wonderful Idea, isn't it? How about, we add different Hull Types so if a SHF or Smaller gets hit by a Snac, nothing happens? After all, SN is meant to be an Anti-Cap Weapon, not something to shoot Fighters down with.

Not at all. I have methods of dealing with shield runners. And if I can't for some reason, then they all use Mini Razors anyway so I just engage cruise and fly away. Mocking them as I escape and they shake their fist angrily.
