Greetings Captain Ezio Della Francesca,

You have a direct comm line to me, Sebastien Coen, of the Omicroners.

We invite any chance for diplomacy, but a short conference must be held making arrangements for a Corsair to enter into Omicron 74, in terms of letting people know so that you are not shot like a possible intruder.

We ask that a short period of time be given, hopefully less then 24 hours for us to make these arrangements. Once this is secured, you may be given permission to land upon Freeport XV.

Also, due to certain advice we have received, and for our own protection, you will be searched before entering our stations, and no more than two guards may accompany you into the station, and none of your guards may join us at the negotiation table. Your vessel may not be larger than a gunboat either, and it would be best not to test fire anywhere in our system.

After all, we must protect ourselves, as there are people who wish to kill us at every turn and we have been betrayed by those we called brethren.

As for guards, I and my first officer shall be unarmed, however, we will be wearing personal shields and blast armor. The third member will be from our tactical squad, and will be armed with the heaviest weapon you will allow on your station.
After all, i must protect myself, and there are many Zoners who now harbor blind hate towards my people.
I fear it would not do, to be shot, and make work for your cleaning crews.
I must reinforce here, however, that I do not speak with the Council's voice, or with the Brotherhood's voice.
I speak only with my own, to give advice, and to carry any proper message back with me, to Crete.

Right. I'm not holding out a huge amount of hope for these negotiations, to be honest. There's been a lot of blood spilled, some of it at my hands. But I feel that I have some responsibility for trying to fix this whole mess, given how the Belisarius was at the center of the whole Omega-3 fiasco -- so I'm going to try my hardest in this matter. The sooner this is over with, the less of a death toll there will be.

First things first. Both sides must declare a cease-fire and maintain it for the duration of these talks, because otherwise this will fall apart before the talks even start. (Corsairs, this means putting those damn Anarchists on a leash. And both of you need to suspend the bounties on each other while the talks are going on.)

Second thing. Both sides need to put forward what they'd ideally like to get out of an agreement, and then be willing to move towards a compromise from there.

Corsairs, that will likely mean giving the Omicroners a way to save face and retain their independence -- Corfu too, not just a semi-autonomous enclave at Nine.

Omicroners, for you that means giving up on revenge. Believe me, I know about losing family and friends to war. But vengeance won't do them or you any good.

Let's hope these talks go somewhere. Peace is always worth a try.

Forgive me, but hostilities against Zoners one system away who are not conducting offensive operations against the Corsair Empire, do affect our talks. I am not an idiot or a traitor. Killing my brethren is offensive, to put it in very unemotional terms and not in the way of peace.

You have entrance rights to Freeport XV in Omicron 74. Do not try anything hostile for both our sakes. We have enough of a security detail on there, courtesy of some of our friends, and you dying on a Zoner station can only serve to make things worse.

I have no qualms of the Neo-Terran Front attending or the Colonial Remnant, but they must abide by Omicroner terms when in Omicron 74. I doubt that will be a problem though, they seem to understand the nature of the sector better than other parties.
