Im wondering if this is a mix up
I was looking over the Order ID and couldn't help but notice its description sounded a tad...lawful?
I know the Order isn't just some pirate faction and that they have no real dark intension but one of their main enemies is the Liberty Navy and they are allied with Corsairs.
Is the order just like an unattached Navy?

the order is lawful.

they are no pirates, they are allied to the corsairs cause its a beneficial partnership for both - but not an enjoyable. after the nomad war in the SP, you might regard to them as tragic heroes - or misunderstood protagonists. - for some reason orillion chose to stay a secret society acting from the underground rather than being an official faction.

but that comes for a high price. even after all the order did for sirius - they achieved most of it with the help of known criminal factions, lane hackers, mollys, blood dragons, bundschuh etc. etc. - they stole the prototype of the osiris, too. all that might have been forgiven ( but not forgotten ) if they had chosen to be an official part of the houses ( most probably some undersection of LSF or something ) but instead they hide in the outer parts of known space.

so it was up to the official houses to "make up how the common sirius citizen might look upon the order". now - the navy / LSF consider them hostile - or maybe unwanted, cause they are a rivaling power. thats about the same reason they are hostile to the BHG, its nothing personal - its just that the BHG is interested in similar stuff - but out of lower motives.

all in all, the order is one of the most just and lawful factions around. they are determined to really protect sirius ( in contrast to maybe the LPI, which is not a state owned faction, but a private one - and so is down to profit, too ) they chose their allies based on what they needed most - gear/connections ( zoners ) piloting and combat practice ( corsairs )
