Well, I'm part of the EI, but the foreign legion caught my attention, what do you think about them? I know that there are several things that you need to have before you can even request to join the FFL.

Yeah, a death wish for one.

Even though they are superbly trained and could be some of the best in the world, they are still thought of as expendables by the French Military Establishment!

You don't have to have anything. You go and sign up. That's about the extent of it. Unless you're unfit, in which case you're going to fall out quite quickly in the first phase of fitness.

Then comes the next phase which would be easy if it wasn't for the constant body destroying exercises that they put you through.

If you make it past those two then you're in the legion and you get to learn French from a mean looking man who will make you hurt if you don't learn it quickly.

One of the best trained soldiers around. Most probably the hardiest.

Overall, the Legion are bad ass.

There's a great song about them. Frank Sinatra sung a version of it, very good stuff. I have it on my phone as well...

But anyway, I know very little about the Legion. But from what I know, they're open to anybody of any religion or culture to join as long as they can pass the training and don't have backgrounds too shady. But my knowledge may be a bit out of date, as I only know about the FFL during World War II.

[17:45:39] Wolfs Ghost (Murphy): Tom, you have problems. Go kill yourself.
[19:25:12] Johnny (Jam): Tomtom, I will beat you with a spoon.
[14:22:56] Prarabdh Thakur: KILL HIM WITH A SHEEP.
[17:40:48] Eagle (Junes): Tom should be slapped with a spoon.
[11:32:18] Warspite: Thank you for being so awesome Tom. <3
[18:17:36] Metano: I love you tomtom
[20:06:24] Warspite: I will seriously give you epic head.

For the factbook, I didn't said that I will join the FFL, that was only a question to know them better, and even so, I know that the 'they're the best soldiers in the world' is just a rumor. You should see them at the NATO's (and non) annual challenges, in which the various military organizations (US Army, Heersgruppe, British Army, Ejercito Espanol, Esercito Italiano) challenge themselves to see who has the: better equipped, most trained and very disciplinated soldiers.

The things that you know about the FFL is just a 2cent rumor. But that 'kepi blanc' made me droll.

If someone would be to offer me a job as a mercenary, I'll probably go and become a gardener.

Being from the Eastern Europe, I honestly preffer Spetsnaz. The FFL are the second in my book, only because of the recruitment training.

Honestly, if you have the capability, go for it.

The father of a guy in my bording school was in the french foreign legion.

It totally ****ed him up.

He became a mean alcoholic.

Only time I spoke to him was when I had phone duty and he asked to talk to his son. When I looked his son he wasnt in his room and I told him that, and then the guy started screaming into the phone and told me he'd come over to hit me in the head.

His son told me what ****ed him up like that was that in some african campain he had orders to shoot anyone who crossed a certain line. There were women and children fleeing across that line, and he shot them too because he was ordered to.

His son later dropped out of highschool and became a drug addict and dealer.

Thats pretty much all I know about the french foreign legion, but enough to know that I aint joining.
