You could also try old ones like... Age of Empires/Mythology, Command and Conquer, Star Wars Empire at War (or wayyy back to Rebellion or Galactic Battlegrounds :ylove:) of course Starcraft original is always a good choice too, or Warcraft if you don't mind single powerful units.
Codename: Panzers Phase 1
Codename: Panzers Phase 2
Codename: Panzers Cold War (dunno if this one was finished and released to public)
The first two were the first strategy games I played and I still consider them to be the best WW2 related games.
Also, the Total War series are very good (the only thing I don't like is the lack of historical accuracy for the Medieval 1 and 2).
And Sins of a Solar Empire. I just got it and it's nice (mostly cause I find it a bit hard)... oh, you already have this one. Try Homeworld or Nexus... for space adventures.
The first thing to do in the first Cossacs' multiplayer was to turn off Diplomacy center; or the game tended to end 5 minutes later with Dragoons' rush.
1. world in conflict. <--- best strategic game I ever played so.
- Of course cold war conflict gone bad.
- tons of details and nice effects. (one of the best explosions I have seen in a strat game so far)
- No base building
- units drop in by planes
- lots of possible aids.
2. men of war. <--- very tactical thinking or you are sure to die.
- Close combat
- both 3th person and the normal overview camera
- manual aiming
- kinda like commando's but then nicer.
3. Total war games.
- if you like massive historic battles? go for these.
4. TBN - Freelancer - Freeworlds mod
- yes, they are working on a total strat cam mode/ NPC controling stuff.
It still can turn into rush due to slightly unbalanced nature of mercentary Dragoons; or the Peace Time should be really long and make some players complain about boredom.
