I just minimized my mod to write this. My mod that's been in the works since April of last year.

Lately, we've been making quite a bit of progress, and had just gotten a new ship into the game. I was flying this ship. A light fighter called a Rondel.

It was not hardpointed. It was not hitboxed. It did not even have a thruster.

But goddamn if it didn't feel good to be flying it after all the effort I put into making it. As I like to do now and then, I flew around all the systems we've churned out so far. Twenty-ish, I believe.

I eventually came to the first system of the mod that I designed. I remember when it was no more than a drawing in microsoft paint. And yet here it was. NPCs, bases, planets, nebulae, asteroids...

With my little Rondel.

Now as I cruised around, I came across a lone pirate fighter. A bloodhound, for testing purposes. I knew my little LF stood no chance against the class 1 laser armed junk ship from hell, but I stood my ground and I felt like god. Because everything had been leading up to this little insignificant moment.

The lasers tore through my hitbox-less fighter, having no effect whatsoever. I danced around the Bloodhound, heart racing, custom music augmenting my super fighter jock reflexes.

Then I died. From some missiles.

Anywho, where I'm going with this whole thing is, do what works for you. I used to sit around and moan and whine about Discovery's flaws. You may sit around and do the same with your life. We're human, it's natural.

But if you actually make an effort to fix this stuff. Damn.

It pays off so frakking much. So much more than complaining.

Anyhoo you can TL;DR away now folks. Just thought I'd toss that up here.

If you put effort into something, and see it prosper, it's the best feeling in the world. Human nature, that.

You're pretty much spot on with this post.

That looks amazing.

The ships, the clouds, the scene in general...

Good job sticking to it.

The team has been working incredibly hard on the mod for quite some time now. Major props to Tycho, Xal, and everyone else on the team for turning a germ of a random idea into something both concrete and increasingly awesome.

I only wish school didn't eat up so much of my time, or I'd be more active in the process myself.
