Profile's clan creation (well re-creation) got an idea going.
Creation of clan or a tag basically for roleplay traders, traders that don't mind having to deal with pirates and such. This idea is also encouraged by that incident I had a little while back with a player not interested in any sort of roleplay.
Advantages: Pirates and contraband hunters know a little better who they can approach. It will also save a few lines of introductions and probably some hassels.
Disadvantages: Paints a bullseye on your transport.
Sounds like a good idea to me, it should help make pirating easier.
The problem with role-playing is that most people want to, but they don't want to be shot at all the time so don't be surprised igiss if you have to manually edit someone's rep.
There's no more imminity list Profile, and as we intend to make all players reputations close to their roleplaying status, traders shouldn't be friendly with pirates.

The Tag would be for people who don't mind being attacked or asked for cargo.
The general idea I guess I'm proposing is a switch from assuming everyone roleplays to assuming everyone doesn't.
Thus, by using factions tags and other identifiers roleplaying chars would be easy identified and could be approached much quicker than a non-tagged player. While non-tagged players can then choose whether they wish to be involved or not.

That would depend on who the person was trading for. But you're right. The roleplay traders would add something to their name that allows them to be identified as someone that can be bothered. Thinking...
<name>-Trans (legal) - some shipping group (Universal Shipping?)
<name>-Smug (illegal) - Junkers or Zoners?
Factions would be able to use the same identifier but that's not necessary since their factions tag already identifies them as roleplaying.
A roleplay tag is nonsense. This is a Role play server. It is supposed that when you play, you are roleplaying.
If you are trading, you are a trader, being attacked by pirates is one of the many risks involved in trading.
Also, in real life, you dont have a tag which says "Dont assault me". A thief will attack you on sight, wont mind if you dont want to be attacked.

If that is the viewpoint of the server than it should be made blazingly clear in the messages that appear at the bottom of the server. If it is already, can someone provide it here as a reference.
