So I decided I will try Guild Wars today because I got little bit hyped with Guild Wars 2. So my questions are below
1) I decided to try that trial thingy. First I downloaded around 160 MB with speed around 100 kb/s. Then the game started and after character creation started downloading some map with around same speed. So I tried -image way and now it's downloading 114 000 files with this speed. Is it normal? :$
2) If I would actually decide to buy it, how does it work? I need to buy original game, plus all expansions? What exactly those expansions bring?

yep... totally normal...
normally you get the updates step by step... weekly most the time... + the image loads all maps... form all 4 parts...
normally you load each map when you enter the area the first time...

the first 3 parts (prothecies, factions, nighfall) are running themself... for Eye of the north you need one of the others

3} Guild Wars 2 will be without monthly fees too?
Thanks

1. Yes, that's perfectly normal. No more loading screens ever though.
2. Not expansions, those are full games. Proph, Nightfall and Factions are three seperate GW games on three continents. Eye of the North is an expansion to Proph. They add alot of content, NF and Factions bring two new classes each, along with hundreds of skills and items, and dozens of missions Prophecies is a good starter campaign, and Eye of the North is a higher level addition to Proph, with leads into GW2.
' Wrote:So with each of those games, you start new character and play a new story? There is nothing like connecting them or so?
Also when you finish those campaigns, what do you do? Some kind oF PvP?
Would you yourself encourage Guild Wars and if so which of those I should start with - Guild Wars, Factions or Nightfall?
Thanks again
PS: Anyone knows why that speed is so slow?
The games can be connected. You can use the same character to play all 3 campaigns.
When you make a char, they ask you if you'll make it PvP or PvE. If you choose PvE, you will be able to use it in PvP as well but at start, you won't stand a chance against level 20 opponents.
Guild Wars is the only game of its kind that I played and still play from time to time. I started with Prophecies, and I might be wrong here but I think the campaigns happen in a chronological order and that's the first one.

It's probably that slow because you're far from the servers. I download with about 700kb/s to 900kb/s. My ping is around 230mps to Seattle. Dunno if that is different if you log into different districts, but that's where the American servers are located.
There is a lot of stuff to do in Guild Wars. There is a calculator for all the achievements you can accomplish which will mean something in GW 2. The difference between GW and other MMOs is that the grind is completely optional. There is a ton of grind in GW, but you don't have to do it. You can get Obsidian Armor (most expensive armor), Chaos Gloves (most expensive gloves), and a Dread Mask (most expensive helmet) on every character, but most of them are ugly, so why bother? You only do what you want to do. I've been playing for 6 years almost and I haven't even done any of that stuff, cuz I only do what I want to do. And without all that grind, I've still got 40 points on my HoM.
Honestly, I'd start with Nightfall. Because the playerbase is shrinking, the Heroes help a lot. If you need any help, I'm around sometimes (surprisingly, my name is Bacon Soda), and I'd be happy to help you with anything you're having trouble with.
PS: It's not listed on the calculator, but if you max 50 titles, you can display the title "God Walking Amongst Mere Mortals" in GW 2. I have not done this.:P
[8:32:45 PM] Dusty Lens: Oh no, let me get that. Hello? Oh it's my grandma. She says to be roleplay.
[12:49:19 AM] Elgatodiablo: You know its nice that you have all that proof and all, Bacon... but I just don't believe you.
