The Unione Corse is a highly organized criminal group that follows the traditions of the Corsican mafia back on Earth.The Corse is known for strict secrecy among its members, and a access to nearly limitless resources, including the support of high-ranked government officials.
In recent decades, The Corse have increased their expansion in space and established connections with Gallic Brigands and to a lesser extent, with the Maquis.Despite their close, often personal ties with Brigands, the "Corsicans" don't trust other pirate groups much and deal with them only out of necessity.In some cases acting as bounty hunters and taking out the most dangerous pirates by request of their government protectors or corporate sponsors.
The Unione Corse are well known as very influential organization among Gallic government officials, some rumors even say they even have their own spies among other major Sirius houses. It is known that The Corse is a highly intimidating force in Gallia, but somehow they always seem to have sympathizers among lawful high-ranked royalist judges.

Since the doorway to Sirius was opened,Joel Orsini and his men have been pushing to expand outside Gallia.They managed to seal a few good deals with the Outcasts.
Unfortunately that got them on the Colonial Remnant's bad side.The skirmishes between the two groups are a rare site,but they are present.Fortunately,the Corse managed to further secure their alliance with the Brigands,mainly the Legion.The Taus also provided them with a steady income of "Protection Money" from the local miners and trade ships.

Due to recent events,the Lefevre family lost it's former influence and the Antoinettes took their place.
They are one of the smaller and less popular families,but thanks to their current Don,Mia Antoinette,they quickly climbed up.One of the reasons for that is Mia's determination to score higher profit.The Anotinnettes operate in the more remote systems,including Dublin.However,seeing one of them there is quite rare,due to their secrecy.

The Corse's current leader is Don Joel Orsini.His current base of operations is Montelimar.

UNIONE CORSE TAX SYSTEM
The Corse's taxing system is a old but still popular tradition among each of major families.A percentage of the profit from every sealed deal or protection money is forwarded to the Godfather.
Failing or delaying the payment is considered as a disrespect to the family, and may end with Extermination.

Modern History : Joel Orsini is the son of Emeric Orsini, a well known leader of the Corse. Joel was only 21 years old when he became the head of the Orsini family. Two years after this, he became the new Godfather. Joel Orsini was involved in smuggling in all types of illegal goods. He is known to be a very skilled pilot of both Fighters and Transports. Joel was pursued by the Police and the Navy while hauling illegal goods many times, but he was never caught. The Godfather of the Corse is also known for organizing crime in almost every Gallic system. In recent years, the Royalists started investigating him. While patrolling, Joel was ambushed by six Navy fighters. He managed to shoot down three of them, but the remaining disabled his engines and arrested the "Criminal". Five minutes later, the damaged Royal Navy ships were intercepted and destroyed by a wing of Corse fighters. Rumors says that one of the Corse pilots who destroyed the Royalists was Zacharie Lefevre himself.
Soon after this, Joels wife, Emma Orsini, escorted by two of the best Corse pilots, was lost on her way from Joinville to Montelimar.
In 793 A.S Joel Orisini did something never done before,he gave his daughter, Sophie Orsini, the power to control the whole organization.One of the reasons was the lack of time and credits.Joel was already working on something new,something that would bring a large amount of funds.

No hard evidence was ever found on her.However,rumor has it she's been roaming through the Taus and even Dublin.Mia forgives no one and she's known to be extremely ruthless.

Modern History:The Antoinette Family is one of the great families of the Unione Corse, it is led by Mia Antoinette.She took the business over from her father, Don Louis Antoinette. The good relationship between the Antoinette family and the Orsini family goes back on him, as he helped the Orsini's in every way possible to get their current influence within the Unione Corse. After the death of Don Louis Antoinette, Maria Antonia Antoinette, Mia's mother,took care of the family while Mia served the Orsini Family as a consultant and representative.As months and years passed,the relationship grew even better as it was at starting days, Mia decided, even when it was hard for her, to take over her mother's pace and lead the Antoinette family on new business fields. In a contract between both families it was agreed to split up the lucrative new business which had offered to the Corse by opening the Minefields to Sirius. But not only the split up of the lucrative new fields, also an aid pact was signed,by Joel Orsini and Mia Antoinette, allowing that both families could count on each other. Even when the Antoinette family isn't as big as the Orsini family, it's is one of the most active families within the Corse.

Ranks Duty:

- Aspirant (Recruit) : The recently recruited pilot. Who of course has to accept and obey all orders or missions received from higher Ranked pilots (Corsaire, Dominant, Special and Elevi ranks). A Recruits' job is to do what they are told to.

- Gangster (Thug) : This is the first rank of the Corses specialized pilots.They are to be better pilots and may command Thieves and Contrabandiers

-Catastrophe aviateur (Assassin) : These Assassins will be our elite fighter or bomber pilots with hardened skills. These are one of the pilots that shall train the Nouveau venus in their ships depending on the Newcomers needs. He will obey all orders from Ravageurs and Elevi Ranked members.He can also give orders to Nouveau Venus and Corsaires unless higher ranked members are available.

- Le Senior (Co-Leader/Don) : As of course the rank tells us, a don will give orders to all other pilots except to the Parrain. All other pilots must be obeyd. He will choose missions, flight patrols, trade wings for the smugglers and will lead his wings into a combat. He may command a Gunboat.

- Parrain (Leader / Godfather) : The one that no-one shall say no to. He will lead all other vessels everywhere, anytime and anywhere he wants. He may command a Gunboat class ship. The Godfather's word is a law for the rest of the Corsicans.

Special Ranks Duty :

- Contrebandier (Smuggler) : As the name says, they are equal to the Experienced Thieves. These pilots can smuggle all kind of drugs or merchandise as long it's in our Zone of interest. They have permission to fly transports and freighters. Contrebandiers can also form a wing of Thieves and Aspirants to escort their transports.

- Heurter Ouvrier (Hitman) : Situations sometimes call for a person that could strike the Corse to victory, a person that can assure no loss and who hits hard. That will be the Heurter ouvrier. Part of the Elite force, this pilots know what they are doing. Rumors say that no one knows the names of these guys, except the Godfather and the Dons. The Corse is arming their hitmans with Civilian weapons and ships. That way, no hitman can ever be linked to the Unione Corse.

- Espion (Spy) : Nonetheless, were not the only one out there. Of course we have enemieseverywhere as all others have. But who said their secret plans will always remain as secret as they want them to be ? Thats where our Espion comes in, a man that is so fast that sometimes cheap scanners might not detect him. A pilot that never fails to retrieve valuable information for his family. Recently, the Corse has send couple a spyes outside Gallia. Rumors says they are in the Taus, Bretonia and even the Edges of Outcasts space. However,the spies are not using Corse technology.They've been armed with the best Civilian ships and weapons money can buy.

- Agent Infiltri (Infiltrator) : Have you ever thought that your best friend and wing man might not really be so..friendly as you think? The Infiltrator is the authorized to infiltrate enemy bases and steal their vessels and technology. To look as one of them, one who will strike in the back in the moment they less expected.

-Civilian-Each member of the Corse can go undercover and act like a civilian.
That means shooting only in self defense.If accused of a crime just pretend to be nothing but a Gallic citizen. Innocent-lamb style.Civilians can dock only our own bases.No pirating anything (except when assisting the Gallic Royal Police against a sirrian ship.)

Naming convention for recruits:
Each recruits states his Callsign/Nickname when he joins the Corse.
On occasion the Godfather/Dons/Other Corse member will give the recruit a temporary (comic or silly) nickname.
The Recruit will keep the temporary name until he gets promoted.At that point,he can use the callsign he stated when he applied for the Corse.
