As a title says - many people using Skype, well I dont...

and here is a problem, becouse many fractions as a basic requirement put an SKYPE account.

So if I want to becpome part of some official, I cant just becouse I do not have Skype account.

I do not have it - and do not wanna have.

so why the Hell is is so importand?

example:

Keepers Recruitment Criteria (Absolute Minimum Applicant Requirements)
1. You must own a Nomad Morph with the intention to become a Keeper someday
2. You must leave your skype name in a response this thread

three main reasons from what I gather.

1. its a more convenient way to pass information to members as opposed to sending pm's to everyone.
2. you can have conversations between multiple faction members at one time.
3. <strike>everyone</strike> most people seem to have it.

There are probably more, but i cant be bothered thinking of them.

Skype is the place for things that are too evil and illegal by forum and server and RL laws, where factions conspire and engage in dark rituals to strengthen togetherness.

Things like intrigue, racist talk, perverted sexual deviancy, assassination plots, and circle jerks. With microphone and webcam.

My favourite one is when they talk trash behind your back without realising you're in the same chat:)

Being in a faction isn't just about wearing the same colours and flying around being better than other people. It's about working together, and with the nature of Disco, having skype as a secondary communication platform gives advantages like being able to chat to and inform people from conflicting time zones of events and happenings. With a server limit of 200, it essentially allows us to almost play the game without getting on the server.

If it wasn't skype, it'd be something else.

My god, I posted a chatlog about making sandwiches and three people are already raging. I don't even need to try troll anymore. It's gotten too simple.

Sometimes just the name is enough. :cool:

And on topic: Skype is near-essential to play the game properly. All factions have at some point, had members who didn't use skype, it never worked out too well for the person. Information exchange, getting to know the people you are gonna play with, quick information, random lulz is all facilitated by skype.

I have to use some programs to comunicate with others - so I use Facebook (so I can talk - if I want to with old friends from school or work) but if I do not have to, I do not install or use others aplications.

The level of interaction inside the game is enought for me - I do not need another 10 k programs to comunicate with people, wen I do not want a specially when somebody force me to use some sort comunicator.

You can call me a freak or sociopath - maybe I am, who knows I'm bizzare and little twisted but that makes me who I'm and I do not change it.

so That's why I do not want use an Skype, X-fire or any other comunicator - I came here to play, and enjoy of play in multi, of interaction - but not for instal some addictional software, just becouse I "have to"
unless I will not be welcomed in some groups.
