I was flying around on my Lane Hacker character, LH~Highwayman. Now, we have a rather long fight with the Mandalorians (great job, guys) and I head to Buffalo to dock and take a five minute break. Everyone else stays in-game over at Buffalo and when I get back I get to hear, "Oh, by the way, if you launch from Buffalo you'll be facing a Kusari Destroyer and a Liberty Dreadnaught." This disheartened me, but I had to make sure that was true. When I launch, I find not one, but TWO Kusari Destroyers and a Liberty Dreadnaught. Turns outs, they were grouped, as well. I launch to get a face-full of Liberty Turrets almost before I can move. I'm dead instantly.

Now, to show you what this is, its two Scimitars and a Slipstream vs. three capital ships. One of them, the Liberty Dreadnaught is tagged =LSF=. I don't understand why these three Capital Ships are dock-raping Light Fighters in the Bad Lands.

After two of us die, the Scimitars, we find that the Kusari Destroyers leave and a LSF Bomber shows up. Our Slipstream is trying his hardest to survive and take out this bomber. Two FH Bounty Hunter gunships show up and start shooting our Slipstream. The =LSF= Dreadnought has used cruise to catch up to our Slipstream as he thrusted away. Eventually, he got away.

Just a friendly "Whiskey Tango Foxtrot?" Buffalo should be a place for Lane Hackers to chill for five minutes without getting mobbed by Liberty and Bounty Hunters.

While not explicitly on topic, the concept of all the LH driving LF's works amazing. Can't kill the little bastid's. Recipe for Carpal Tunnel.

I had a Tiger Shark (The only non-LH LF at the fight), and damned if I wasn't wishing for 2 more allies in LF's.

You guys were flying circles around us. Crazy.

Incidently, even the LPI woulda been useful as help..

You also have to remember, the Liberty Navy and the LSF NPC's DON'T know where Buffalo is. You can always read rumors in teh bar of them trying to find these pirate bases, but they can't.

Who controlled the Kusari Destroyers?

I'd rather not mention names.

I'd have to agree with Qunitinius and Virus. Even though the Liberty government "owns" the system, they should still be blissfully ignorant of the pirate bases' locations. I had a similar incident, even though I could have lived if I didn't do something very foolish. An LSF officer met me outside Rochester just as I was undocking. I wish I would have taken a picture of my face because I had the most dumb-founded look trying to think of a RP reason why an LSF officer would know where Rochester was as Liberty Rogue NPCs were pelting him with their hilariously underpowered weapons.

I'm not complaining, and I didn't make a big stink about it at the time, but still.

"The thirteen saloons that had lined the one street of Seney had not left a trace. The foundations of the Mansion House hotel stuck up above the ground. The stone was chipped and split by the fire. It was all that was left of the town of Seney. Even the surface had been burned off the ground.
Nick looked at the burned-over stretch of hillside, where he had expected to find the scattered houses of the town and then walked down the railroad track to the bridge over the river. The river was there."

the two kis distroyes where under ico camand. we recived word that man was under attack by concentrated LH forces. my men met the wise enrute and somehow thay found ther way into the badlands. by the time i arrived from rhinland space and spent about a good 10 minets navagating the badlands ther was only a singil slipstream alive and he was harassing snipers bomber. after doing what i could to keep the guy from taging good old sniper we where asked to leave. i pulled my men back and we went hunting for a spyglass that was reported by califonia. as for the FH i have no idea where thay came from. but from what ICO has noticed thay have little intrest in RPing. thay blantently attack anybody that looks red and never say a word. i have seen them kill several smuggler trains who where carring no cargo just souly becuse thay had a red IFF box. ICO has been meaning to have a little talk with them.

but never the less i did not order my men to camp outside buffalo and pvp whore. if this is the case then the FH are not the only ppl i need to have a sit down with.

If I die bury me with a rocket luancher, and a shotgun. I am going to have some house cleaning to do.

gotto add, that its not only the lawfuls spawning battleships. yesterday, i went through NY ( or tried so on cheshire, server crashed ) - and at norfolk, what do i find there? - a rogue outcast destroyer. i attack at once ( low chances in my cute little ship but even so ) - after a few shots, i wonder how the outcast destroyer can drop my shields that quickly - and where the many nice flashes of light come from.

in a corner of my eye i see a lane hackers outcast battleship. (....) so, i can understand the LSF using capital ships. there were a battleship + destroyer at norfolk, the military navy shipyard. BOTH of them were not hostile to the lawforces ( well - of course, it would have been painful to idle there when missouri would have shot back )

sadly, my own shots hit the shipyard while i was taking cover - and i turned red to missouri () so i, as a BHG had to run from the libery forces - and the fleet of lane hackers and rogues idled at norfolk making fun of the BHGs poor aim.

soo - asking why the LSF would sometimes move out their capital ships?

ps.: didn t pick up their names, but the LH- usually uses fighters, so i don t think it was them ( in that case - slightly off topic ) - but with all the capital ships invading new york, i sometimes wondered why the LSF doesn t use heavier stuff. on the one hand its "honourable" or however you call it - to use fighters - but its sometimes better ... and more believable for a house faction to counter with just a "knock-out" argument, which is major firepower.

pps.: about bases and systems that are "unknown" to the chars. yes and no. if those bases are so unknown, then villains should not flee to them when they are chased closely. if they do, there is no reason the character chasing shouldn t know about the bases.

Well the LSF is the intelligence outfit for Liberty. We are not police, navy, military. We are not special forces. However, we do have special forces units to task on special operations. We are similar to the NSA, CIA, KGB, Mossad, MI-5, MI-6.

Because of that, in my opinion, we would know exactly were Buffalo is and Rochester and Beumont and every other "secret" base and operation is in Liberty. Would we share that info with anyone..even other Liberty forces...hell no. Not unless we feel it would benefit our operations. Of course that is not to say that it is an excuse to base sit and blow up folks who undock. It is just why I feel we would know about those bases and were they are. We probably have a log somewhere concerning what all you bad guys had for breakfast today.

For folks of a differing opinion...I can not count the number of times unlawfuls have fled to all these bases from us. To many times to count. So if you really want to secure the location better...stop leading us to your "secret" bases every single day. If you want to escape head to Rheinland...we wont follow you there.

Just an hour ago I chased to unlawful gunboats to Buffalo. Its the same situation with traders running from pirates. You want to run and dock..people will probably just sit and wait for you to undock or log off. Again, better to run out of Liberty..will leave you alone then. Oh and just to add...both of my LSF characters are red to buffalo and all the npc patrols there.:)

As for LSF capships. We have them but we like to use fighters. I have a cruiser for use when liberty is spammed with unlawful capships...something thats been happening a lot of late. But even against GB's we really like flying fighters. Sniper has worked very hard to keep the LSF from becoming a capship heavy faction and I have a ton of fun because it is not. I hope people never see LSF capships flying around on patrols.

And when people really want to capship whore in liberty...whatever. What was it 3 BS's, 6 Cruisers, with GB, bomber, and fighter support invaded NY a few days ago. Thats just silly. In addition, that kind of force is for the Navy to take care of not LSF. However, the LSF has no problem organizing an independent fleet of ships to initiate a counterattack. Which we did and succesfully routed the fleet after a few hours.

GO TEAM!

But I make the argument that the LSF should not have a Liberty Dreadnought parked at Buffalo, even if they DO know where it is. That would be classed as total overkill and is unnecessary, come on guys... besides, how did he even get IN there, I decommissioned my old Liberty Dreadnought at Buffalo and I took half an hour to get in there!
