Uh, that's corporate balance.
If we give 5K's to everyone, you'll end up seeing only freelancers, junkers and zoners trading, since they're the best ones to trade.

Is it that bad? Cuz acording to that logic, you are seeing only IC 5ks... I say that there are people that not only trade for money bot also roleplay a bit(ridiculous idea i know) and they pick a faction they like to (role)play...
For them basicaly nothing changes...

IC ID is at least rephacked hostile to most unlawfuls. With Freelancer ID you can land everywhere. I can't wait to see Mastodons landing on Malta to load up on Cardamine.
Many corporate factions have an archenemy. Freelancers don't.
I myself need to defend the cargo/ID restriction a bit. Since its, as mentioned before, some sort of RP. Only the biggest, most powerful factions are able to buy vessels of the enormous cargo space size if 5000 Units.
And in some other sort, if you lead a faction, and dont want your guys to use any ship, this is another good thing.
In my personal example, the shetland.. it flies really baaaad in formation, those ones are nearly impossible to lead. So, im glad my ID restricts us to the shire...
