Well yes, this is an event offer. Unioners intercepting a prison liner and a military convoy bringing prisoners to Vierlande. We could arrange this between Unioners, RM and Repex. Hessians and Bundschuh could involve if they want to since we are very low on numbers. Any idea is welcome here.. Just want to keep Unioners alive.. Reply with your thoughts and let us see if we can bring such an event to life.
sadly i must admit that i don t know much about unioners ( or many other rheinland factions ). it sounds like a "standard" ambush to free your henchmen. if those prisoners are "high security" prisoners - that means, VIP - in that case extremely dangerous people, or influencial people.. i am sure that a prisonliner would be escorted by at least 3 or 4 fighters.
to make it easier to defend - i would say that the liner itself must not be destroyed ( of course ) but all the escorts must be annihilated or forced to retreat. then the liner must be captured.
in roleplayterms that can be done by . opening a tradewindow and transferring X amount of shipcrew on to the liner ( the liner must not be full of course ) - once that happened, the liner is considered ( captured ) and shall be escorted to a unioner base ( and sold / scraped ) - and the cash can be shared.
when however the defenders win - the liner can be brought to the destination and sold - and the cash will be shared among the defenders.
to make it like a game - each parts ( attackers / defenders ) will buy 50% of the liner each. so that there is gain / loss for each side. sides should be balanced. - maybe make up a formula...
for every 3 fighters defending , the attacker can bring one gunboat. for every 6 fighters defending, the attacker can bring one destroyer / cruiser ( as if he would want that:laugh:) etc.
whops, i am attacked in delta - must stop here.. heheh
Sounds good in overall Jinx but I am afraid Unioners would not be bringing a cruiser but only some light and heavy fighters and maybe only a single gunboat if we still have it active. Thats why I would like some hessian and/or bundschuh involve.
well, its a prison liner - its likely that high ranking criminals are bunched together there. high security is costly - so it shouldn t be hard to ask hessians and others to assist. with the liner as a central element of the efford, and a rather dynamic defenders / attackers force. it makes up for an interesting "short event". maybe you can even take... ahh.. entry fees:)- its all turned into credit cards and put on the liner .. hehe. cash allways attracts people.
well - it would look stange anyway to have a prison liner - and a battleship escorting. that would make the trip at least 2 times longer - and speed is vital for such an operation, i d say.
Still open for additional ideas though.. If we can arrange the forces to come across before the event, it would be much more organized and easy that way.
Zap, a Hessian would be preferred to be honest but still if we can't manage to summon up enough numbers you could provide us with a helping hand.
Just something that crossed my mind. Something like a hide and seek. Considering it would be a very important prisoner the military could arrange with RepEx shipping for not one, but various transports carrying lots of thing in their holds and amongst them only one transport actually carrying the VIP. Something like a hide and seek game. The [W]s would have to browse some five transports and find which one is holding the prisoner. Then they'd "beam" their crewmen to take over the transport. To make it more interesting, we could establish a rule that for the transfering to be accepted the transport's shields would have to be fully disabled and some hull damage would have to be done. I don't know, just trying to make it more interesting.
I know the Workers are fully capable of pulling that stunt, I mean, searching for their guy while fighting. They're all excellent pilots and I'm sure they're used to it from checking their opponent's loadout prior to and during engagement. It would add some "game" to it.
Also, there could be a little aspect of uncertainty to it. Say the Workers intercept the convoy at the tradelanes, they would have to successfully board the transport before it reached the prison. I'm pretty sure it's doable, even in cruise speed it takes sometime to reach the prison from the tradelanes. If we come to the conclusion that it isn't, we can establish a rule for the transports not to use cruise at all. We RP the Workers aiming primarily for the transport's thrusters.
