Hi. I have been looking at the ships, and I quite like the Rheinland Pirate Cruiser, mostly because its infocard suggests it is open to others than the Red Hessians. However, none of the Rheinland unlawful faction ID's & Guard ID's (nor independent pirate) allow for cruisers, so who can use it? If it is solely for Hessian use, does anyone ever buy it when you can get the über cool Vidar for just a few extra credits?
The RP Cruiser is a bit faster than the Vidar. It's a little bit different in playstyle. If I were to pick between the Vidar and the RP Cruiser, I'd honestly pick the RP Cruiser.
Also, in years past, the LWB, Unioner, and Bundschuh ID allowed Cruisers. It's mostly a hangover from that.
On another note, if you have a SRP for it, you can fly it under the LWB, Unioner, or Bundschuh Guard ID. I believe the official factions for these NPC factions have an RP Cruiser.

You would really pick it over the Vidar? Agility is vital in snubcraft, but to me those caps behave like a ton of bricks anyways. And isn't SRP closed? I mean for the time being, the only option would be a Hessian RP Cruiser?

If I'm going to be out in space, getting fired at by a Battleship, I would want the most nimble thing I can find. In the case of Vidar or RP Cruiser, this is RP Cruiser. While lobbing mortars at a Battleship or taking on a faster Gunboat, I would want the RP Cruiser. But then again, if you're trying to go toe-to-toe with another Cruiser, then the Vidar would probably better for you.
But then again, I don't know that much about caps, but that's how I think about it.

Yeah I am sort of new to caps as well. Tried out a few different cruisers and a couple of BS'es. I got the Rheinland PC now, and I totally see what was said about agility. It handles all most like a heavy gunboat, and it has a rather small profile!
