Oh mighty Community of Discovery! I come before thee to consult thee, whose wisdom shall not be surpassed!
My friend and I are planning on getting ourselves Liberty Dreadnoughts. Now, before potentially wasting a heck load of money on one, I would like to know whether it is good at anything other than being sexy.
So, would you be willing to share your experiences and opinions with me? If yes, thank you! If no, meh.
Best BS out there, for many...but it's harder to fly than most battleships.
Statswise, good battleship. Personal opinion, battleships are not very roleplaysch. I mean, not when they are more numerous that fighter crafts. But, meh...your choice.
I was considering practicing in Conn for how ever long it takes for me to get halfway skilled in flying a battleship, and then RPing in the Liberty core systems as a semi-stationary battleship sending out inRP Navy patrols etc. Sound good?
My favourite. Well balanced. It pwns almost everything. It's able to avoid approximately 90% of primary fire on 2k range to an other BS. (Assumed that you're skilled.) It dodges Mortars, LMs, and also SNACs with the right feeling for it. The power-size-armement-armor-composition is pretty good. It turns around quite fast and yeah, it's sexy. :P
Concerning the usage: Use it for conn pew, RP (attempts) in Liberty space and of course for raids in Rheinland/Texas.
It is good battleship to fly with. If you go head on against turtle, you will die. With just 12 guns, you have to choose armaments carefully. Bombers kill you. Gunboats kill you. New York swarms kill you.
And so forth.
I have one myself. IT is great fun to fly. Be prepared to warm welcome by load of smalls though

2-3x Mortar
9-10x Solaris
be a good loadout?
Anti-Craft
8 Solaris
2 Battle Razor
2 Missile
Anti-BS
8 Liberty Primarys
2 pulses
2 mortars
That's what i'm using and i'm doing good.
From my point of view this Battleship it's the one of the best in game if you know how to fly it. It can kill from Turtles to Ossiris if you know how to play it.
Don't forget to strafe and reverse
That's all good luck.
Performance wise, the dreadnought is at the top range of maneuverable battleships along with Osiris. In fact, they're quite equally matched. There's a specific tactic to piloting the dreanought, strafe like hell and get a few well aimed mortar rounds into enemy capships. Against smaller crafts, you can be extremely deadly with a mass Solaris turret loadout.
