Which really sucks when I need to go save some fighters getting shot up by a sol LD. It happens on other ships, but 99.9% of the time when I log on the Ven'Gyr (A Ranseur, maybe happens with all ranseurs, I only have the keys to that one) the server decides it's an awesome idea to kick me.
I'll fly around talking anywhere from one to five minutes before I get DC'd without a warning message. I can see people typing, but my messages into the chatbox don't send, and then it gives the lost connection message.
This is not a connection issue. My net is stable. It happens with all ships and seems to happen more frequently the larger the ship. I've had it happen with a fighter maybe once or twice, as opposed to several hundred times with the Ven'Gyr. I did a clean install only a month back, and the problem was happening before then, so a corrupt install is out of the question.
Really I realize how unlikely it is anyone has a fix for this, but it's driving me CRAZY. So if someone could like, lend a hand that would be crazy awesome.
Honestly, from what I can tell, this looks like an internet problem.
Now you say this happens to all ships, do you mean that it /always/ happens eventually on snubs, or only on occasion?
Somehow something it's equipped with is triggering an anti cheat system. Unequip everything. Launch. Re-equip stuff. Launch.

Occassionally. It doesn't happen eventually all the time, indeed most of the time with snubs it does not.
And uhm, if that were the case, why does it not kick anyone else flying it, Doleo?
Wow. This must be some sort of Outcast-Hacker conspiracy. I'm sure Dennis Jameson is giggling right now.:smile2:
If it only happens when you fly that character yourself, there are basically 3 areas where the problem can be. Your Freelancer installation, your Internet connection, or your operating system and underlying hardware. So it might be worthwhile to try replacing or reinstalling one of those 3 components. I would think that I have mentioned them in ascending order, sorted by difficulty. That is almost certainly guaranteed to help - at least with narrowing down where the trouble is.
