Ok now that fleeing is not death there are a few with issues. So how about a time delay on repairs?
My Idea: For every credit worth of damage, you need 1 second of repair time. so if a fighter needs 12 000 creds to repair? it is going to take 12 000 seconds. Repairs can happen while your offline/on another character so your not just sitting their. Plus remember when you dock you do not have to repair all,or anything for that matter. You can still land,and just restock,but bots do not fix weapons and gear. Only hull.

The only problem i see with this is when you've beamed in dammaged weapons/stuff from NCPs. If you want to sell them for any good price you have to repair them first... But if it takes time and i have a full load of class9 weapons from dead BHs it'll take me FOREVER to wait and sell em...:(

With a system such as: remove bat/bots, remove hull repairs from stations save from shipyards/guard systems, substantially raise repair fees and put set repair times?
Also, I believe your idea would be better if we'd stick by % (Such as, 0.1% second) rather than a set number of hull per second. Battleships can have up to 4 million HP. For a battleship with nearly 4 million HP, that would mean 4000 hull/sec.

Prices for selling stuff damaged,or repaired is the same. Try it. Check sale price before repair,then repair it,and subtract the repair cost. Same price.Or it used to be as i have not done in years.
This repair system would also help faction weapon use. They can land,and sell damaged guns,and buy new.Then launch again.Costly,but no repair time.
Also just think how many would stop using Cheetah thruster's,and BS scanners on a fighter.:ohmy:

Yes i agree. % does work better. As i said,lets just throw out some idea's,and see what we come up with.

No instant repairs. Bots do not repair gear on ships,just hull.So a damaged weapon can still fall off even if hull is full.
