I was interested in the stuff people had to say. The system was original, and had very much potential. However, seeing as the +1ers just HAD to ruin it,I decided to tackle a different subject.
Capship docking. Let's face it, it's retarded that a BS is able to dock on another BS. Or any station its own size or smaller than itself. The idea given by DI was a pretty good one, that capital ships would only be able to dock stations larger than themselves. However; here's my munched over idea.
Battleships and Carriers: Able to dock exclusively on planets and "moor" with shipyards. -NOTHING ELSE-. Battlecruisers: Able to dock on planets, moor with shipyards, and dock stations at least three times their size. Cruisers: Same as Battlecruisers. Light cruisers: Same as Battlecruisers and Cruisers, except they can dock with stations twice their size. Gunboats: Everywhere except really tiny stations such as border stations. Bombers and fighters: Everywhere.
Now you might be wondering, what about liners, transports, trains and freighters?
I'd say they can dock anywhere they like, since they're mostly designed for trading. InRP the explanation for docking a station a quarter its size (any border station) would be simply mooring with it a while to trade off the goods. Yes, this still leaves a lot of holes for abuse for transports, trains and other large transit vessels, and that's why this thread exists. So,any ideas on it would be lovely.
Now, say that we put down a limit on the transit ships as well. If they couldn't actually dock with some small stations (such as Java station in Tau-23, makes no sense that a Rheinland Train can dock there) that a server command be implemented for selling goods out from space. It's a very flawed concept, yes,so discuss on!
P.S. This is to enforce realism. Trolls, +1, flamers, you know where the door is.

Discerning between planet and station is probably possible. Between battleship mooring and station... also probably possible.
However, this would be a LOT of work to do on the dev side, it'll mean having to recheck each station loadout and adjusting the mooring points as needed. I'd not attempt to discern between gunboat, destroyer and cruiser and transport.

This made me chuckle.
The logic behind this is sound, but is it really fair to restrict players who own large ships in this way? I can't answer this because the biggest I own is a cruiser that's barely more powerful than a transport.
Yes,I think it might be good. For all those who've gone zerk when say...a battleship undocked from another battleship in front of them. Or saw a bloody RH BS dock to save their hide on a tiny little border station.
Also, Dancing Lady...oh god I laughed so hard.
