first of all i hope i've hit the right section? If not i am sorry and would please you to move this topic.
i played fl disco for some time now and it is fun, although i would not have expected that from a game this old.
so i would like to join a faction now just out of curiosity and to meet some more people maybe.
As i read the faction descriptions, comm channels and the stories over the last 2 months i am not sure what is a good faction for me and what is not.
Most of the players here seem to put a lot of work and time into the development of their character by writing stories on the forums and play it ingame really well.
I like rp too but i do not want to spend much time by doing so called "forumlancer".
I also am not online everyday or too much in general. More an occasional player.
And if this would not be enough already, i also have some wishes regarding the faction.
Some fun / sense of humor should be allowed even inRP. I do not have problems with following orders but i also would like to have some freedom, doing things i like, chatting with the people i like and so on.
I have 2 chars atm. a GC fighter (I like the GC idea very much and kusari is a nice place) and a zoner whale for trading.
My knowledge about other groups is rather bad. (read the wiki descriptions once)
I hope there will be some factions for me but as i tried to explain above, do not expect a hard working active member. But the time i am online, i will do my best.
As it is hard to describe what kind of faction i am looking for i will give you three examples of faction stories i really enjoyed (this is based on my personal opinion):
This is the most interesting faction idea i have read so far: Agnus Dei
I really like some religion / military idea. Middle ages scenery interpreted in the world of freelancer is not easy but yes..as i said i like the idea very much.
This is best story i read: Virulian Enclave
I am sure this really was a lot of work to do but it was absolutely worth it. But no matter how much i like this, i would want my future faction to have a more easy story, as i think it really is complicated to RP a character in a faction with such a deep and complicated base.
And last but definitely not least this is the most funny story i read: They are here. / norp
i knew that the author of that one had two other factions before (i now heard even more) and as they were dissolved there was a big drama and all that and i would have expected that he just disappeared or starts insulting everyone. Well as i read that story i actually cried laughing. I respect the self-mockery and the way to deal with the loss of former factions.
As i said above i would enjoy having some fun in the faction and not all being too serious, although i do not expect anyone to take it that easy with the own story. But it really was fun reading, thank you.
and now i hope you all got the idea of what i am looking for and maybe there will be one who likes to have me
Official or not is not important to me, as i do not even know the difference but officials having some rights?!

Well for the your zoner char, you could try the TAZ. They are a very religious group from my POV.
Police factions are a good place to start for people looking to join a faction, they are less pvp based (on the whole) than the millitary, and also not as RP strict, as in you can talk about whatever and enjoy yourself as long as you do your job.
The police have also been granted some nice powers which make your life easier as you patrol your space.

[color=#FF0000]join the super secret NY conspiracy group. We are soooooo unofficial...we do not even exist.
Nah fo real, your sense of humor is still working so i suggest you better join a nice little indy group to keep it that way.
Hit me up on skype for more unbelievable valuable tips & tricks :yahoo:
Well, also a belated welcome to Forumlancer from me.
I guess a good start would be a Libertonian faction, since that is where most people play. LPI or [LN]. You can roam around the Liberty systems freely most of the time, and there are always people to RP with.
If you like Zoners, TAZ would be a nice place (never was a member, but I've RP'd with some of them). Or... you could help me and Crackpunch create the Privus Zoners. Inconspicuous recruitment is inconspicuous.
Thank you all for your answers. I appreciate it very much. I will now read through some more faction information and then hopefully join a faction where it is fun to play.
